About SANS
Founded in 1989, SANS Institute (SANS) began as a cooperative research and education organization. Over the next 25 years, it grew to become the most trusted and widely recognized provider of information security training and certification in the world. Today, SANS has served more than 300,000 cybersecurity professionals around the world, with more than 60,000 earning Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) security certifications-the leading certification that provides assurance to employers that their people and prospective hires can do the job.
At the heart of SANS is a community of practitioners, from auditors and network administrators to CISOs, who share their lessons learned and collaborate on solutions to the challenges they face. These experts, working across corporations, government agencies, and universities, come together to support and strengthen the global information security community.
Why SANS?
At SANS, our culture is defined by three pillars: Mission, Brand, and People.
  • Our Mission is to hire people who understand the importance fighting against cybersecurity threats.
  • Our Brand reflects a commitment to delivering the highest quality training.
  • Our People are grounded in a culture of fairness, honesty, customer focus, and a pragmatic approach.

What You'll Achieve at SANS
We are seeking a Senior Multimedia Producer to join our Central Marketing - Brand & Communications team. This role is an experienced multimedia producer and visual storyteller to own video production from concept through delivery. This role combines creative direction, field production, interviewing, cinematography, editing, animation, podcast production, and brand storytelling to bring the SANS mission to life across global marketing channels.
Partnering closely with the Senior Brand Manager, Senior Content Strategist, and cross-functional teams across marketing, events, curriculum, and sales, this role conceptualizes and produces high-quality content aligned with SANS brand standards and business objectives. From defining the look and feel to final delivery, the Video Editor and Multimedia Producer owns the creative direction of each project and leverages AI-assisted production tools to drive efficiency and scale.
Travel is required approximately 30% of the time.
As a Video Editor and Multimedia Producer, you will:
  • Strategy and Creative Direction
    • Partner with Brand and Content teams to execute a cohesive global video strategy aligned to brand, community, and campaign goals
    • Translate briefs into clear creative direction-defining visual style, storytelling approach, structure, and overall feel
    • Lead concept development from brief through pre-production, including storyboards, shot lists, and production plans
    • Recommend content formats, channels, and distribution strategies (e.g., YouTube, social, events) to maximize impact
    • Plan and oversee video production for events, coordinating with internal teams and external partners
    • Manage freelancers, agencies, and ongoing video budgets
    • Champion adoption of emerging and AI-assisted production tools across the organization
  • Production and Filming
    • Shoot and produce video content across formats in a hands-on capacity
    • Film on-site at events, training venues, and other locations, including interviews and live capture
    • Conduct on-camera interviews with instructors, executives, and subject matter experts
    • Manage all aspects of production, including equipment, lighting, audio, and logistics, ensuring consistent quality
  • Editing, Animation, and Post-Production
    • Edit and deliver end-to-end video content across formats, balancing speed and quality
    • Create motion graphics and animation independently
    • Use tools such as DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop)
    • Leverage AI tools (e.g., Descript, Canva, Frame.io) to streamline workflows and collaboration
    • Produce final assets optimized for multiple channels, including captions, thumbnails, and platform-specific formats
  • Podcast and Audio Production
    • Record, edit, and produce podcast and webcast content end-to-end
    • Ensure high audio quality across remote and on-site recordings
    • Repurpose audio content into short-form video and social assets
  • Brand, Workflow, and Collaboration
    • Ensure all content aligns with SANS brand standards
    • Manage multiple projects across global teams and timelines
    • Maintain organized asset libraries and production archives
    • Collaborate with Brand, Design, and cross-functional stakeholders
    • Track content performance and apply insights to future work
    • Support production planning, timelines, and budgets
    • Coordinate external partners, ensuring quality and timely delivery
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For
Every SANS employee brings something unique. For this role, we're looking for candidates with:

  • Strong creative vision, with the ability to translate briefs into clear visual direction and storytelling approaches
  • Demonstrated experience across the full production lifecycle, including scripting, filming, and post-production
  • Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects; Illustrator/Photoshop a plus)
  • Experience with motion graphics and animation
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted production tools (e.g., Descript) and emerging technologies
  • Confidence filming on-site using professional equipment and conducting on-camera interviews
  • Podcast or webcast production experience, including recording, editing, and distribution
  • Strong understanding of platform-specific video formats and performance metrics (e.g., watch time, engagement)
  • Ability to interpret briefs, develop storyboards, and align content to brand strategy
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, global environment
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the USA; visa sponsorship is not available.

Preferred qualifications include:
  • Degree in film, media production, communications, or a related field-or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience in cybersecurity, technology, or B2B marketing environments
  • Familiarity with project management and digital asset management tools (e.g., Asana)
  • Knowledge of SEO and social media best practices for video, including YouTube optimization
