Join our Planning Analyst team as a Sr Planning Analyst at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where you'll optimize production schedules and inventory management to support our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. In this role, you'll develop and maintain production plans that balance customer demand with capacity, while ensuring efficiency and resource utilization. You'll work collaboratively with Planning, Operations, Quality, Procurement and Project Management teams to support schedule stability and continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires analytical skills and strategic thinking to optimize complex production schedules while maintaining high service levels.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field, or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification.
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years) or equivalent.
  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) preferred
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred

In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong understanding of MRP principles, capacity planning, and inventory management
• Experience with Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP/S&OP) processes
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data and optimize production schedules for efficiency
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
• Strong collaborative and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-oriented environment
• Experience with production scheduling software and manufacturing execution systems
• Strong problem-solving abilities and process improvement mindset
• Knowledge of GMP and quality systems preferred
• Project management experience preferred
• Ability to work independently
• Experience guiding schedule adherence and resolving conflicts
• Experience developing and maintaining planning parameters and master data
• Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics reporting
