Job description

Job Responsibilities:
Working closely with the JHM Sr. VP of Facilities, JHHS VP Facilities Operations, JHHS VP Planning + Design and JHHS VP Capital Project Management & Finance , the Director Business Planning & Administration plays a critical role in supporting the leadership team, communicating priorities to staff, managing major initiatives and serving as a broker between internal and external partners throughout the Health System to support Facilities' strategic goals.
This role will work in close collaboration with the SR. VP Facilities, VP Facilities Operations, VP Planning + Design and JHHS VP Capital Project Management & Finance to write reports and other deliverables for presentation to Trustees, JHHS Presidents, JHUSOM Dean, senior health system leadership, faculty and clients regarding progress on specific projects, etc.
This position will aid in Facilities effectiveness across JHM.
Role Accountabilities Include:
  • Supporting the Facilities Department in achieving target goals and priorities by serving as a strategic partner and implementation leader
  • Providing operational leadership to accomplish departmental goals, including prioritization of activities, workflow, communications, and processes
  • Prepares and manages Facilities messaging, presentations, and Trustee reports
  • Prepares presentations for the department as required
  • Ensuring the prioritization of activities and scheduling for Sr. VP and VP Planning + Design streamlining workflows and communications; ensuring senior leadership time is being used as effectively as possible
  • Working with the Sr. VP, VP Planning + Design, VP Facilities Operations and VP Capital Project Management & Finance to set strategic priorities to provide insight on identifying areas where to direct energy and focus of the Facilities leadership team
  • Maintains the Facilities presentation template based on JHHS and JHU marketing standards
  • For key meetings that the Sr. VP leads, manages the meeting agenda, supporting the facilitation of discussion during the meeting itself, writing meeting minutes and driving next steps
  • Leading with integrity and maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality
  • High level of independent decision making
  • Administrative personnel supporting the Facilities leadership will report to this position

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or Business Administration or equivalent. Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • 7-10+ years of progressively responsible related experience including 3-5 years of management experience.
  • Demonstrates effective participation in diverse project teams including multiple internal departments and consultants
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exhibits ability to achieve project objectives on multiple complex projects running simultaneously

Salary Range: $190,000 to $230,000 per year. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
