Job description

Position Overview
United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a Clinical Nursing Supervisor to join its team and provide leadership and oversight in a patient care setting. This role is responsible for supervising nursing staff, coordinating clinical operations, and ensuring high standards of patient care and safety. The Clinical Nursing Supervisor plays a key role in supporting staff development, implementing best practices, and promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
Ideal candidates will bring strong clinical expertise, effective communication skills, and a passion for mentoring others in a healthcare setting. This position requires a current registered nurse (RN) license, relevant clinical experience, and previous supervisory or leadership experience. The Clinical Nursing Supervisor will be expected to model professional standards while supporting the mission and values of United Health Services.

Compensation Range:
$40.87 - $62.19 per hour, depending on experience
You will be eligible for benefits if you are hired into a regular position with at least 24 scheduled weekly hours.
Sign on Incentives

Job Responsibilities
  • Investigates operational problems and makes administrative judgments and decisions, consulting the Director of Nursing and/or Administrator On Call as necessary
  • Performs regular rounds on all nursing units; observes resident care and work performance of nursing staff and provides feedback to Nurse Managers
  • Responds to and provides leadership during hospital codes as required
  • Addresses concerns and complaints from employees, patients, families, and physicians using established facility systems
  • Provides information to the media in accordance with facility policy
  • Refers inter- and intra-departmental issues to the appropriate resources or resolves them directly as needed
  • Collaborates with unit staff and Nurse Managers to ensure adequate and appropriate staffing
  • Acts as a facilitator for collaboration between Nursing and Medical Staff
  • Assists in disseminating information and answering questions regarding policy, procedures, and other facility communications
  • Takes appropriate actions in response to safety hazards or legal implications
  • Accepts and completes special projects as assigned by the Director of Nursing
  • Serves on councils or committees to help develop policy, implement changes, and improve nursing practice
  • Demonstrates leadership by accepting interim management roles as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications
Minimum Required:
  • A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
  • Three (3) years of progressive Nursing experience.
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse License
  • CPR within 3 months of hire
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing
  • Previous supervisory experience in a hospital setting
  • Professional certification in a related nursing specialty (Nursing Administration)
  • ACLS certification
