Position Summary:
The Director - MDM COE is responsible for establishing and leading the enterprise Master Data Management capability across the organization.
This role will define governance frameworks, drive standardization of data processes and policies, and ensure the integrity and consistency of master data across systems and business units.
The role partners closely with Supply Chain, Finance, Commercial, R&D, Quality, and IT functions to enable accurate analytics, efficient operations, and regulatory compliance.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategy & Governance:
  • Develop and implement the enterprise MDM strategy aligned with business priorities and digital roadmap.
  • Establish and maintain data governance frameworks, standards, and policies for all master data domains (e.g., Material, Supplier, Customer, Recipe, Packaging, Quality, Location).
  • Define and lead the Data Governance team, ensuring cross-functional alignment on master data priorities and issue resolution.
  • Define and maintain data quality KPIs (completeness, accuracy, duplication, timeliness) and reporting dashboards.

Process & Operations:
  • Design and operate the centralized MDM COE for creation, maintenance, and control of master data across Oracle Fusion and integrated systems.
  • Implement workflow-based approval processes for master data creation and change management.
  • Partner with plant and functional data stewards to ensure accurate and timely updates in decentralized domains.
  • Lead data cleansing and harmonization initiatives, especially during ERP rollouts, system upgrades, or M&A integrations.
  • Oversee data migration planning and validation for new system deployments.

Technology & Systems:
  • Collaborate with IT to define the MDM technology architecture.
  • Drive automation, data validation, and standard workflows to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, food safety, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA, FSMA, EU labeling).

Leadership & Change Management:
  • Build and lead a cross-functional team of data stewards and analysts to support global and regional operations.
  • Provide training, communication, and change management to build awareness and adoption of data standards across functions.

Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process simplification, automation, and efficiency.
  • Periodically review master data domains to ensure alignment with evolving business and regulatory needs.

Education and Experience:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Master's degree or MBA preferred
  • MDM certificate is helpful

Experience:
  • 8+ years of Master Data Management, Data Governance or ERP Data influential leadership experience is required
  • 3+ years of direct people leadership is required
  • Experience in food manufacturing, CPG or process manufacturing industry required
  • Proven track record implementing or managing centralized MDM process using ERP
  • Travel 50%
  • Oracle Fusion ERP experience highly desired

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Deep knowledge of data governance principles and master data domains
  • Strong project management and process design capabilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools and data quality tools
  • Strong understanding of ERP data structures and cross-functional data flows
  • Experience with data quality management, standardization, and cleansing initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders across business and IT
