Job description

The Warehouse Supervisor supports the Sr. Logistics Manager in all day to day logistic operations in warehouse and transportation. They supervise the daily workload, assisting to execute, and help to determine staffing requirements. Coordinate with all other departments in the company to help Surly meet all of it’s goals. Work closely with Warehouse Manager, Sr. Logistics Manager, Production Manager and Quality Manager to ensure that the freshest, best possible products goes to consumers and contract partners.
This position is for a mid-shift, the hours will be 12pm - 8pm, weekdays. The salary is $60-70,000. The position is eligible for all benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO and more.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Ensure a safe work environment and a culture that embraces safe work habits, understanding of the risks, compliance with regulations, and prioritizing corrective action of any identified safety hazards and risks.
  • Assist to hire and make a training plan for new staff
  • Supervise direct reporting staff according to overall company policy
  • Apply strategic planning to determine company and department objectives
  • Set employee goals and objectives
  • Develop staff to maximize potential
  • Monitor staff performance and communicate with Warehouse Manager
  • Monitor and assist staff with work progress
  • Assist to plan and implement procedures and systems to maximize efficiency
  • Conduct Inventory
  • Adhere to Surly’s Mission, Vision and Values

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS amp; ABILITIES
  • Proven experience as a warehouse supervisor or relevant role
  • Demonstrate competency in strategic planning
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operating metrics
  • Working knowledge of IT, MS Office and Orchestrated Beer
  • Solid understanding of beer and beverage quality, rotation, freshness and life span

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of business and management principles and practices
  • Knowledge of strategic planning
  • Knowledge of human resource management principles and procedures
  • Knowledge of basic economic and accounting principles and practices
  • Knowledge of office administrative procedures
  • Proficient with MS Office. Orchestrated Beer knowledge a plus.
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervision of the warehouse/logistics team

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position operates around a ‘mostly’ traditional schedule in an office and warehouse environment, but can require long hours and evening/weekend work when the demand calls for it. Participation at relevant brewery and other company events is assumed.
