Job description

Krispy Kreme's Third Party Logistics Manager will be the key region-level leader overseeing outsourced logistic operations, with a primary focus on managing carrier relationships and performance. Reporting to the Director of US Logistics, the Third Party Logistics Manager will ensure the successful execution of Delivered Fresh (DF) operations by overseeing carrier compliance, service quality, and cost efficiency. This role will be responsible for performance monitoring and ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards. 


The Third Party Logistics Manager will collaborate with third-party logistic providers to drive operational excellence while serving as the key liaison between logistic partners and internal stakeholders, including Director of US Logistics, Shop District Managers, Shop General Managers, Area Sales Manager (or another Sales team designate). They will be accountable for maintaining service levels, optimizing transportation efficiency, and ensuring consistently high-quality delivery experience.


A successful Third Party Logistics Manager will demonstrate strong leadership, carrier management expertise, cost analysis capabilities, and a commitment to operational excellence. The role will perform all duties according to company policy, standards, and established procedures. A commitment to teamwork, a clean, professional appearance, enthusiasm, customer-focused behavior, and a high energy level are necessary.


A TASTE OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

3PL Performance & Daily Operations

  • Managing daily 3PL execution, ensuring compliance with master route plans and service expectations.
  • Ensure carriers utilize Korber for route compliance, inventory entries, and cut tracking.
  • Validate 3PL billing accuracy, review invoices before approval for payment.
  • Communicate service disruptions promptly.
  • Manage local one-off order adjustments in Korber.
  • Build strong relationships with 3PL managers to support service, cost, and quality.
  • Hold carriers accountable for SLAs, shrink, route coverage, SOP compliance, and CPS standards.
  • Ensure carriers properly use Korber for routing, inventory entries, and cut management.
  • Verify route execution daily, including dispatch timing and inventory reconciliation.
  • Train carriers on Power BI, Korber reporting, and SOPs.
  • Confirm accurate 3PL billing aligned with compliance standards.

Systems, KPI Tracking & Data Review

  • Act as SME for logistics systems, performance tracking, and compliance.
  • Review daily route performance through Korber and analyze Power BI data for trends.

Audits, Reviews & Collaboration

  • Conduct recurring performance reviews, training, and audits with 3PL partners.
  • Audit sales/return and Korber activity reports to identify errors and compliance gaps.
  • Lead routine calls with carriers, GMs, and DMs to review service, challenges, and KPIs.
  • Communicate planogram updates, new items, customer changes, and market shifts.
  • Coordinate logistics responses to unplanned events.

Service Issue Management & Operational Support

  • Resolve 3PL service issues and develop contingency plans.
  • Partner with operations leadership to address loadout, fill rate, and staging issues.
  • Align production and routing plans for downed-shop sourcing.
  • Provide enhanced ad-hoc support and issue tracking.
  • Manage escalations and ensure corrective action plans.
  • Liaison to operations leadership team for loadout, fill rates and staging issues. You will work directly with operations to help with mitigating obstacles.
  • Review ad-hoc billing weekly to ensure proper GL coding
  • Perform cost analyses and present recommendations to leadership as needed.
  • Lead bimonthly business reviews with 3PL leadership to evaluate SLA performance, cost improvement initiatives, and operational progress.

DF Expansion, Routing Compliance & Optimization

  • Assess carrier capabilities to support DF expansion and optimization.
  • Review proposed routing for compliance with HOS requirements and customer delivery windows.
  • Oversee CI tracking to ensure accurate documentation of savings on weekly invoices.
  • Ensuring that initial expansion orders are in Korber and set up correctly based on proposed routing for day one execution.

Safety, Compliance & Driver Capacity

  • Oversee carrier safety and regulatory compliances.
  • Conduct bimonthly reviews of driver staffing, turnover, and DOT physical compliance.
  • Review quarterly safety scores and improvement needs.


YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS:

  • 10+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management, preferably in food distribution or retail operations.
  • Experience managing third-party logistics providers and overseeing carrier performance.
  • Must be familiar with Power BI, Lytx cameras and freight management systems.
  • 8+ years of P&L experience.
  • 2-5 years of management experience in a multi-site distribution, retail, or QSR environment preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Expertise in logistics operations, carrier management, and service performance tracking.
  • Ability to develop contingency plans and drive process improvements.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Power Point.

  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively across a large territory.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of DOT and safety regulations.
  • Valid driver's license
