The Senior Logistics Manager - Americas Transportation is responsible for providing strategic leadership for transportation and third-party logistics (3PL) suppliers. This role is responsible for the development and execution of transportation strategies that improve customer service, optimize costs, mitigate supply chain risks, and support business growth. The Senior Logistics Manager will lead cross-functional initiatives, manage a high-performing team, and partner with executive leadership to align regional transportation capabilities with corporate and Center of Excellence objectives.

In this role, the Senior Logistics Manager - Americas Transportation will lead a Minneapolis-based team of Logistics Planners and Analysts supporting transportation execution across the Americas region. This leader will oversee daily transportation planning activities, drive standard work, and ensure effective use of logistics analytics to support service, cost, and operational performance. The role requires strong expertise in transportation management, carrier and 3PL oversight, inventory and warehouse concepts, financial management, project leadership, and risk mitigation to support a resilient and efficient transportation network.

This leader will foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and team development by building high-performing teams, developing future leaders, and managing change effectively. This position will use data and KPI reporting to identify opportunities, improve processes, and measure performance against key indicators such as on-time in-full delivery, freight cost as a percentage of revenue, transportation cost per shipment, transportation cost savings, carrier performance, customer satisfaction, and supplier and 3PL scorecards. Success in this role requires strong decision-making, cross-functional collaboration, negotiation skills, and the ability to translate business needs into scalable transportation solutions.

As the Senior Logistics Manager - Americas Transportation, you will:

  • Lead domestic and international day-to-day transportation operations support across the region.

  • Establish governance and performance management processes for carriers and 3PL providers.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost, service, quality, and productivity.

  • Optimize transportation networks, mode, service selection and routing.

  • Develop and manage the annual transportation budget and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Create executive dashboards and report KPIs to senior leadership.

  • Support logistics risk management, business continuity, and contingency planning.

  • Partner with Supply Chain, DC Operations, Procurement, Indirect Supply Management, Manufacturing, Planning, Customer Service, Finance, and Sales to improve end-to-end supply chain performance.

  • Negotiate strategic transportation contracts and service agreements.

  • Ensure compliance with domestic and international transportation regulations.

  • Support digital transformation initiatives, including TMS, End to End visibility, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled logistics solutions.

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop logistics leaders while building a high-performance culture.

  • Up to 20% domestic travel.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant progressive logistics, transportation, or supply chain leadership experience managing multimillion-dollar transportation budgets with 5+ years of managerial experience, OR advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant progressive logistics, transportation, or supply chain leadership experience managing multimillion-dollar transportation budgets with 5+ years of managerial experience.

  • Proven success managing 3PL providers and carrier networks.

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and E2E visibility, and business intelligence tools such as Power BI.

Nice to Have:

  • Strong logistics background with experience in LTL, parcel, and ocean container freight, driving efficient transportation planning, carrier performance, and cost-effective delivery solutions..

  • Lean Six Sigma, ASCM/APICS, CSCMP, or PMP certification preferred.

  • Strategic planning experience.

  • Experience in Transportation management, Carrier and 3PL management.

  • Inventory and warehouse knowledge.

  • Financial and cost management experience.

  • Data analytics and KPI reporting.
