Job Description

The Sr Program Manager is a client-facing role responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex, technology-enabled client engagements. This role partners closely with consulting leads, product, technology, data, and sales teams, while serving as a primary operational point of contact for clients. Sr Program Managers ensure disciplined execution, clear governance, and high-quality outcomes across all phases of the engagement lifecycle.

This role is externally facing and requires frequent interaction with client stakeholders, often within their operating environments, to drive alignment, manage delivery, and resolve issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage all phases of client engagement delivery, from scoping and SOW development through execution, issue resolution, and closeout.

  • Serve as a primary day-to-day client contact, leading external-facing interactions, setting expectations, and maintaining strong client relationships.

  • Develop and manage integrated project plans, timelines, governance structures, reporting, and budgets.

  • Lead project planning activities and facilitate internal and client meetings to ensure delivery against commitments.

  • Manage scope, risks, issues, and dependencies, communicate status clearly and escalate with recommended mitigation plans.

  • Create Statements of Work (SOWs) covering development, testing, implementation, and post-launch support periods.

  • Coordinate across cross-functional Visa teams and external partners to support complex, multi-party initiatives.

  • Partner with Account Management and Sales on client commercialization and go-to-market execution.

This is a hybrid position.Expectationofdays intheoffice will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
Proven experience managing complex, client-facing projects or programs.
9+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or 7+ years with an Advanced Degree.
Demonstrated experience working within client environments, leading complex technology or transformation initiatives from planning through implementation.
Strong external client engagement skills, with the ability to operate as a trusted delivery partner.
Experience managing cross-functional, matrixed teams without direct authority.
Background in payments, financial services, consulting, or technology-driven environments.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to develop executive-level presentations.
Strong program and project management expertise across multiple concurrent initiatives.
Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with changing priorities.
Collaborative, resilient, and solutions-oriented mindset.

The estimated salary range for this positionis $143,700 to $243,700 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
