Senior Warehouse Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Warehouse Operations Manager to lead warehouse and distribution operations at our Chesapeake campus. This position is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities, driving operational excellence, developing high‑performing teams, improving productivity, and ensuring safe, efficient, and cost‑effective operations. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong warehouse management experience who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and building successful teams.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, and returns.
  • Ensure accurate, efficient movement of inventory while meeting productivity, quality, and customer service expectations.
  • Develop warehouse strategies that support business growth and operational excellence.
  • Monitor staffing levels, workflow, and labor utilization to maximize efficiency.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop warehouse supervisors and operations personnel.
  • Build a culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Human Resources on recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employee development.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and all operational procedures.
  • Lead safety meetings, audits, investigations, and corrective action initiatives.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and process controls.
  • Collaborate with transportation, procurement, customer service, and supply chain teams to improve inventory flow and operational performance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methods.
  • Analyze warehouse KPIs including productivity, inventory accuracy, shipping performance, labor efficiency, and safety metrics.
  • Manage warehouse budgets, labor planning, and operational expenses.
  • Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and reporting tools to improve visibility and efficiency.
  • Support warehouse automation initiatives, technology implementation, and operational optimization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of seven years of warehouse or distribution leadership experience.
  • Experience managing high‑volume warehouse or distribution operations.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, shipping, receiving, and distribution processes.
  • Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing teams.
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives is preferred.
  • Multi‑site warehouse leadership experience is a plus.
  • Experience leading warehouse automation or optimization projects is preferred.
