Job description

Description
Position at Portland Trail Blazers
Become a part of the team behind the team.
As employees of the Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Quarter, we do more than basketball. We are blazing trails toward winning championships on and off the court.
We are pioneers and innovators. We look for people who push boundaries, who dream, who are committed to inclusivity - who want to contribute to Rip City!
As our Senior Manager, Sales and Product Development, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth across our suites, club seats, hospitality packages, and partnership-integrated offerings, including leading a team of sellers in this space. You will manage a portfolio of accounts while coaching and developing sellers to maximize individual and team performance, and serve as a resource to the broader sales team on premium business opportunities.
You will also contribute a strategic and market perspective to the positioning, pricing, and development of new and renovated premium spaces, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to ensure premium offerings deliver an exceptional client experience.
Our ideal candidate for this role is a sales leader who is equally energized by coaching a team to success and supporting with closing deals. We're looking for someone who understands the nuances of sports sales, including premium hospitality, thinks like a strategist across pricing and products, and enjoys building client relationships that last for years, not just a season. If this sounds like you, apply today!
DAY-TO-DAY:
  • Manage a team of sellers, providing mentorship, coaching, and performance support throughout the sales cycle
  • Lead regular one-on-ones, pipeline reviews, and deal strategy sessions to build a high-performing, motivated team culture
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of accounts, deepening client relationships and finding opportunities for upsell, renewal, and expansion
  • Partner with Corporate Partnerships to develop and sell bundled premium and sponsorship packages that drive incremental value for clients and the organization
  • Oversee the representation of premium inventory, including suites, club seats, hospitality packages, and new premium products, with a consultative, client-first approach
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on the positioning, pricing, and sales strategy for new and renovated spaces at Moda Center
  • Cultivate lasting relationships with clients, including suite holders, club seat members, and corporate partners, built on trust, responsiveness, and exceptional service
  • Represent the Blazers brand with energy and professionalism at games, events, and client entertainment opportunities

WE'D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:
  • Demonstrated sales experience in professional sports, live entertainment, or hospitality
  • At least one year of experience leading, coaching and developing sales professionals, including setting performance expectations, delivering feedback, and supporting individual growth
  • Experience in managing a full sales cycle, from prospecting and consultative selling through negotiation and close
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and present persuasively to senior-level decision-makers and executive buyers
  • Proven skill in building and sustaining long-term client relationships that drive retention and revenue growth
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally across the organization (e.g., with Corporate Partnerships, Marketing, Operations, Facilities) to achieve shared business goals
  • Working knowledge of CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce or equivalent) to manage pipeline, accounts, and sales activity
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and adapt in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment with shifting demands

WE'D BE THRILLED IF YOU ALSO HAVE:
  • Experience working in the NBA or another professional sports team
  • Experience collaborating with Corporate Partnerships teams
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems
