This position is ideal for someone passionate about fraud analytics, data-driven investigations, automation, and building scalable solutions that strengthen fraud prevention and response efforts. You will partner closely with Product, Security, Engineering, and Customer Support teams to support complex fraud investigations, drive incident response activities, identify systemic vulnerabilities, and implement controls that reduce fraud risk. The role combines technical expertise, fraud intelligence, and problem-solving skills to deliver effective security tooling, insights, and processes that improve investigation efficiency, strengthen fraud defenses, and enhance the customer experience. If you thrive on solving complex fraud challenges, leveraging data to drive decisions, and building innovative solutions that protect customers and the organization, this role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate in high profile fraud investigations and lead technical remediation efforts with internal/external business partners.
  • Design, develop, and maintain fraud detection, monitoring, and response capabilities across cloud environments (primarily AWS/Azure).

  • Design and automate security solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, PowerShell, SQL and other scripting languages.
  • Leverage native AWS services and security tooling to enhance fraud detection, investigation capabilities, and overall platform protection.
  • Collaborate with Security Architects to align fraud prevention and response capabilities with enterprise security architecture and risk management strategies.
  • Partner with Security Operations (SOC/SIRT) and engineering teams to ensure appropriate alerting, monitoring, escalation, and operational support/handoffs for fraud-related events.
  • Develop and implement automation to improve fraud investigations, data collection, alert triage, and response efficiency.
  • Translate investigation findings into actionable improvements to systems, processes, controls, and customer protections.
  • Support fraud governance and remediation initiatives by providing technical expertise, risk assessments, and implementation guidance.
  • Identify opportunities for platform, process, and control enhancements that reduce fraud risk and improve the customer experience.
  • Stay current on fraud trends, attack methodologies, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to continuously strengthen fraud prevention and response capabilities.
  • Lead or participate in fraud response activities occurring outside normal business hours, including on-call support for significant fraud incidents when needed.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field and a minimum of 12 years of related experience; an advanced degree with 8+ years of experience; or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience implementing security solutions in public clouds (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP).
  • Expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies like Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Perl).
  • Experience using GitLab/GitHub for CI/CD and version control.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and work effectively in a high-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting across all levels of the organization.
  • Self-starter mentality with a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail.
  • Experience in securing financial or fraud-sensitive applications is a plus.
  • This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Mission

Q2's mission is to build strong and diverse communities by strengthening their financial institutions. That mission shapes the technology we build, how we serve our customers, and how we show up for each other.

Vision

We started with a straightforward belief: technology could fundamentally change how financial institutions serve their communities. More than 20 years later, that belief still drives us. Q2 delivers digital banking and lending solutions that help financial institutions deepen relationships, improve experiences, and grow. Across every department and region, Q2 team members bring creativity, collaboration, and purpose to building technology that makes banking stronger, easier, and more human.

Culture & Values

Q2's culture is built by Q2ers and grounded in ten guiding principles that define how we show up for each other, our customers, and our communities. We take our mission seriously. We also have fun doing it. Teams across the company work together to solve hard problems, move quickly, and make a real impact on the financial institutions and communities we serve. Weโ€™re also helping shape how AI is applied in financial services, bringing the same disciplined, banking-first approach Q2 has practiced for more than 20 years to this next chapter of innovation.

Our Culture & Commitment

Weโ€™re proud to foster a supportive, inclusive environment where career growth, collaboration, and wellness are prioritized. And our benefits go beyond healthcareโ€”offering resources for physical, mental, and professional well-being.

Q2 employees are encouraged to give back through volunteer work and nonprofit support through our Spark Program (see more). We believe in making an impactโ€”in the industry and in the community.
