Job description

Summary

Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Senior Outside Operations Manager at NRG Park in Houston, Texas. NRG Park is in the fast lane for opportunity and excitement. We are a one-of-a-kind premier facility with four major venues within one giant park. NRG Center (one million+ sq. ft. Convention Center), NRG Stadium (home of the Houston Texans and The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo), NRG Astrodome ("The" Astrodome), and NRG Arena. We are seeking a unique Senior Outside Operations Manager to join our Parking team. Under general supervision of the Director of Parking & Operations, the Senior Outside Operations Manager is responsible for thorough supervision, and coordination of direct personnel, subcontractors, and vendors. Responsible for the daily oversight of Parking's outside operations, cashier vault, event coordination and traffic control by performing the following duties personally. Also, acts as liaison between the facility and clients, ensuring all client's requirements are met and facility rules, regulations and policies are adhered to.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following:

  • Oversee all aspects of parking and exterior property operations including traffic control, event staffing and coordination, hiring, training, exterior set-ups and changeovers, ADA compliance, lot and fence maintenance and repairs.

  • Conduct comprehensive research and data analysis to identify opportunities for revenue growth and operational efficiency.

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance revenue through process improvements, cost control, and innovative business solutions.

  • Lead initiatives to minimize internal loss and prevent theft by strengthening operational controls and fostering accountability.

  • Collaborate with Finance, Human Resources, and senior leadership to analyze performance metrics and develop data-driven action plans.

  • Evaluate workflows and recommend strategic improvements aligned with company objectives for sustainable growth.

  • Prepare and present analytical reports and recommendations to executive leadership to support informed decision-making.

  • Commit to ongoing development by actively seeking feedback, participating in leadership training, and applying new management techniques to enhance effectiveness.

  • Demonstrate a growth mindsetthrough continuous learning, reflection, and improvement of leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

  • Manage subordinate supervisors who oversee employees in various functions.

  • Oversee the phased transition of first point-of-contact duties for event related traffic and route planning, exterior lot operations, and police staffing to other team members through training and knowledge transfer, maintaining oversight and serving as an escalation resource as the team's capabilities develop.

  • Implement and train all employees on the operating procedures, preventive maintenance schedules, emergency plans, and safety/risk management policies that conform to NRG Park standards.

  • Works directly with Outside Police to ensure proper traffic control and staffing/scheduling plans.

  • Review contracts for compliance with event and/or government specifications and NRG Park requirements.

  • Review contracts, communicate with tenants, and work with subcontractors to determine special requirements.

  • Inspect conversions, construction, and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual operating budget and recommend an annual capital budget for long-range repairs and improvements to the property.

  • Authorize the requisition of equipment and supplies within budget guidelines.

  • Assists with oversight of special projects, such as construction, remodeling, or expansion. Helps to plan and direct outside vendors/contractors, to assure compliance with contracts and safety requirements.

  • Act as a liaison between tenants and facility contractors as needed.

  • Responsible for the surveillance of parking gates which includes overseeing traffic flow, loss prevention and ensuring optimal staffing at all times.

  • Responsible for maintaining all equipment and ordering equipment for supplemental event needs.

  • Works directly with Event Management to ensure all event requests are handled effectively.

  • Prepare and oversee financial reports and event settlements on behalf of department.

  • Attend all meetings as required.

  • Operates company vehicles as needed.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Organize and prioritize work from event overviews and task lists to meet deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.

  • Operate heavy duty machinery such as forklifts, scissor lifts and boom lifts.

  • Position is routinely required to work outdoors and is exposed to the elements (heat, rain, etc.)

  • Works extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

  • Supervise managers and coordinators, train them on successful and appropriate business practices.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university required.

  • 3-5 years related experience and/or training in the public assembly industry in a supervisory type of position; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Abilities

  • Handle multiple projects and assignments.

  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.

  • Work independently, exercising judgement and initiative.

  • Work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

  • Familiar with payroll policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrate the principles and techniques of supervision, training, budgeting, and other administrative duties.

Computer Skills

  • Operate a personal computer using Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, ABI, Adobe Acrobat and Illustrator and other Parking Systems software.
