Highland Homes is currently accepting resumes for an Events Specialist. The purpose of the Events Specialist is to lead in the ideation, coordination, and execution of various marketing events for Highland Homes Employee Owners, consumers, realtors, and developers. The Event Specialist will take the lead in delivering phenomenal events that build business relationships, generate excitement around Highland Homes, drive realtor and consumer traffic, and increase brand awareness. They will be responsible for conceptualizing event themes, selecting vendors and managing those relationships, establishing and adhering to event timelines, coordinating technical aspects, ensuring attendance, generating media interest and coverage (where applicable), marketing, managing event staff, staying on budget, preparing expenditure reports, and processing invoices. The event specialist should deliver a remarkable brand experience for our Employee Owners, consumers, and realtors, and most importantly, meet organizational objectives through exceptional events.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
  • Work with Sr./Marketing Manager, Sales Managers, Sales Counselors, and Division Leaders to develop and execute events that meet company objectives:
    • Work independently or alongside Sr./Marketing Manager to develop event strategies and programs that enable Sales to meet their goals
    • Develop event concepts, themes and ways to engage audiences, whether for Employee Owners, consumers, or realtors, that address division and community objectives
    • Present ideas and event details in a professional format to key internal and external stakeholders
    • Locate resources, visit sites, and lead pre-event meetings to help make decisions about event design
    • Direct Graphic Designer to create artwork, organize and create marketing materials
    • Establish and manage budget for events in collaboration with Sr./Marketing Manager, and process payments/invoices
    • Review and negotiate contracts with event vendors
    • Continually evaluate and adjust project priority based upon workload and necessity
    • Explore assigned territory to understand the communities, get to know the Sales Counselors and understand their needs
    • Manage community-level marketing events, inclusive of coordinating logistical elements, with directional approval from Marketing Manager and Sales team from concept to completion
    • Liaise with speakers and preparing speaking notes
    • Engage with vendors and arrange security as needed
    • Proactively coordinate with Marketing Manager and Marketing Coordinators to confirm the Marketing Calendar is current and that relevant details have been communicated.
    • Maintain relationships with developer marketing teams and confirm alignment on and support of developer-led events
    • Continually evaluate effectiveness of events; suggest improvements to Marketing Manager and VP of Marketing
    • Attend events as needed
    • Track realtor attendance at all events accurately in Salesforce
    • Evaluate effectiveness of events with ROI reporting
    • Establish goals for self
  • Support event-related needs of various internal and external clients, including Human Resources, Sales, Construction, Land, IT, Purchasing, and members of the Executive team
  • Assist Marketing Team as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in hospitality, public relations, marketing, or other related field.
  • 5 years prior event experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) required.
  • Prior working experience with word processing, spreadsheets and database management preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to interact with Realtors and others professionally.
  • Strong negotiation skills preferred.
  • Ability to work on several projects and tasks simultaneously on a daily basis required.
  • Project management experience and meticulous attention to detail required.
  • Multi-tasker with a strong work ethic.
  • Superior interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Expert communication skills.
  • The demands of this position may often dictate longer hours to successfully complete the day's work. Will be asked to attend events to support as needed.
