About the job
The Sales organization is looking for a Sr. Education Solutions Sales Account Executive to sell complex SAS solutions and services to prospective and current customers. In this role, you'll bring product, solution and industry expertise to identify customer needs, develop opportunities and close strategic business within an assigned territory or account base.
You'll work closely with sales pods, account teams, executives, pre-sales resources and cross-functional partners to demonstrate the value of SAS solutions, influence requirements and help customers move from business challenges to measurable impact.
We are prioritizing candidates coming out of leadership roles in Education.
As a Senior Education Solutions Account Executive, you will:
  • Sell specified SAS software and/or solutions to current and prospective customers while producing revenue in line with organizational and individual targets.
  • Prospect within assigned territories or accounts to uncover business needs, qualify leads and integrate solution strategy into account plans.
  • Conduct customer demonstrations and presentations, develop sales proposals and communicate the value of SAS products and services.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key decision makers and influencers to understand customer needs, match them with appropriate solutions and close sales.
  • Manage territory and account development by identifying high-potential opportunities, advancing deals through sales milestones and forecasting time frames to close business.
  • Facilitate closure of complex sales, including support for pricing negotiations, licensing questions, contracts and post-close transition to Professional Services, Customer Success or Onboarding.
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals
  • Embrace curiosity, passion, authenticity and accountability. These are our values and influence everything we do.
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Management Information Systems (MIS) or another relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in education, government, non profit work, sales, marketing or technical support of computer software solutions, related training products and services, computer hardware or telecommunications software/hardware.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with the ability to travel as needed.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
Additional competencies, knowledge and skills
  • Creating Demand Through Insight - Identifying the targeted account's business challenges and needs and their probable causes; providing and provoking convincing insights that compel decision makers to discover or reconsider unrecognized problems and opportunities and the value of addressing them with new solutions to achieve better long-term results (e.g., profitability, revenue, market share).
  • Account Planning - Establishing a plan to achieve the sales objectives of an account, taking into consideration overall opportunities, customer business priorities and anticipated business changes, regional issues, past sales results, and available resources; taking action specified in the account plan, reviewing progress, and adjusting the plan as needed.
  • Advancing Sales Discussions - Leading discussions with influential decision makers that progress the sale by effectively clarifying information, offering insights, addressing objections, and gaining agreement to move to the next step in the buying process.
  • Ability to partner with virtual sales teams, account managers, executives and pre-sales resources to support highly qualified, high-revenue opportunities.
  • Developing knowledge of company pricing, licensing procedures, approvals matrix and contract processes.

Benefits highlights
  • Comprehensive medical, prescription, dental and vision plans.
  • An industry-leading 401k plan.
  • Generous time away including vacation time, a variety of paid holidays, and our much-loved U.S. Winter Wellness Break between December 25 and January 1.
  • Volunteer Time Off, parental leave and unlimited paid sick days.
  • Our Recreation and Fitness Center offers recorded fitness classes to help you fit movement into your day.
