About The Role:
Nevoya is seeking a skilled Drayage Dispatcher for California to coordinate loads, manage schedules, and support operational efficiency across our electric trucking fleet. This role serves as a key bridge between Junior and Senior Dispatchers, managing real-time freight operations while resolving the majority of issues independently and escalating only when necessary. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment, communicates effectively with drivers, brokers, and vendors, and can quickly adapt to policy and process changes. Dispatchers at Nevoya are problem-solvers who ensure shipments move on time, compliance is maintained, and customers receive excellent service.
Shift Options:
Sunday - Thursday: 8am - 5pm
Monday - Friday: Night Shift: 8pm - 4am
What You'll Do:
  • Assign and coordinate loads to drivers, ensuring on-time pickup and delivery
  • Communicate with drivers to manage schedules, provide route updates, and troubleshoot issues
  • Liaise with brokers and vendors to ensure smooth shipment flow
  • Maintain accurate and timely updates in our dispatch systems
  • Monitor and ensure Hours of Service compliance for all assigned drivers
  • Manage EV charge planning to prevent delays in delivery schedules
  • Reprioritize workloads in real time based on emergent events, guided by established policies
  • Support other dispatchers with task delegation and provide operational guidance
  • Coordinate with Senior Dispatchers on escalated issues or operational improvements
  • Track and report on KPIs including on-time rates, empty miles percentage, and compliance scores

Success in this role will be measured against the following operational targets:
  • On-Time Pickup & Delivery Rate: 90% or higher
  • Load Assignment Turnaround: 30 minutes or less from load availability
  • Driver Communication Response Time: 5 minutes or less
  • Hours of Service (HOS) Compliance: 98% or higher
  • Empty Miles Percentage: 15% or lower
  • TMS Software Update Accuracy: 95% or higher
  • EV Charge Management: 95% or more trips without charging delays

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of drayage logistics experience, preferably in a dispatch or customer service capacity
  • Intermediate IT proficiency and comfort with logistics technology platforms
  • Working knowledge of freight industry standards and processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proven ability to unjam operational issues and resolve problems independently in real time
  • Adaptability to process and policy changes in a fast-moving environment
  • College degree preferred

Preferred:
  • Prior EV fleet or sustainable transportation dispatch experience
  • Familiarity with Apollo or similar dispatch/tracking platforms
  • Experience coordinating across multiple time zones
