Location:This role requires associates to be in-office 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. The Senior Director, Product Innovation & Population Health will lead the development and execution of innovative products and population health strategies that improve health outcomes, affordability, and differentiation across Elevance Health's Commercial portfolio.

Reporting to the Staff Vice President, Head of Product Innovation & Population Health, this leader will manage a team responsible for translating emerging healthcare needs into scalable products and programs. The ideal candidate will be an entrepreneurial operator who can combine clinical rigor, strategic thinking, and disciplined execution to move ideas from concept through launch and scale.

How you will make an impact:

  • Build and maintain a portfolio of innovative products and population health programs aligned with Commercial growth, affordability, health outcomes, and differentiation priorities
  • Develop end-to-end strategies for population health programs, including target population identification, clinical and consumer value propositions, operating models, partner strategies, implementation roadmaps, and approaches to measuring success
  • Partner closely with clinical leaders and subject matter experts to ensure that products and programs are grounded in clinical evidence, address meaningful health needs, and have an actionable implementation roadmap
  • Establish clear business cases for new products and programs, integrating market opportunity, strategic value, expected health and financial impact, implementation requirements, risks, and investment needs
  • Identify opportunities to build, buy, or partner for new capabilities, and work with stakeholders across the organization to determine the most effective path to market
  • Serve as a trusted strategic thought partner to Commercial leadership on emerging health needs, product opportunities, and population health priorities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a BA/BS degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Experience leading teams in healthcare product strategy, innovation, population health, or clinical program development
  • Proven ability to develop and execute healthcare products or programs from concept through launch and scale
  • Strong people leadership, talent development, and cross-functional influence skills
  • Ability to work effectively with clinicians and incorporate clinical evidence into product and business decisions
  • Experience developing business cases, investment recommendations, and executive-level presentations
  • Healthcare ecosystem fluency across payers, providers, employers, consumers, and digital health start-ups
  • Entrepreneurial orientation and comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
  • Management consulting experience or a comparable strategy and problem-solving toolkit is strongly preferred.

For candidates working in person or virtually in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $161,440 to $290,592.
