Summary: Reporting to the site General Manager, the Director of Operations will manage the daily production, inventory, supply chain, continuous improvement, and logistics to ensure safe, efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery to our customers. They are responsible for development and implementation of strategy, growth, and profitability targets for the PSG Grand Terrace facility and the PSG North Hollywood facility.
They will have direct ownership for established safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity, and continuous improvement objectives. Additional areas of reasonability include but are not limited to the oversight of: Safety, Manufacturing Operations (Machine Shop and Assembly), Supply Chain, Capital Equipment, Facilities Management, Workforce Development, and Operations Strategy Deployment.
A successful individual will deploy and maintain strong operational processes, be data driven, drive continuous improvement, and empower their team to solve problems.
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, operations management, or a related field is required.
  • MBA/Master's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or other operational leadership role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience in a build to order/high-mix manufacturing environment required
  • Proven background in the application of production/inventory control, procurement procedures and techniques, and logistics.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop long-term strategic plans and follow-up action plan to execute on these deliverables.
  • Proven leader with ability to motivate teams and drive accountability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage business to achieve/exceed agreed-upon growth, revenue, and operating income objectives.
  • Oversee end-to-end supply chain process management, strategic supplier partnerships, warehousing, inventory management, and internal plant logistics.
  • Ensure products meet operational profitability goals.
  • Establish strategic direction, performance metrics, standards, and measurements for direct reports and the operation that support safety, quality, and delivery expectations
  • Sets operational goals and objectives, and guides teams to meet monthly, quarterly and annual targets.
  • Serves as a change agent for the site in embracing the adoption of technology and being a champion for Operational Excellence initiatives.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to manage the P&L and continuously execute to achieve revenue and margin commitments.
  • Provide support and leadership to the supply chain, production planning, manufacturing, and continuous improvement teams by:
    • Supporting sales & operations planning (S&OP) process, and planning manufacturing capacity accordingly to ensure on time and efficient delivery.
    • Identifying and responding to trends in the marketplace, anticipating and applying strategies to be ahead of the cost and quality curve.
    • Planning and executing a best-in-class supply chain to ensure appropriate levels of inventory and turns as well as supplier quality and cost.
    • Directing the continuous improvement program and supporting on site initiatives as required to ensure adoption of programs and achievement of desired results.
    • Ensuring that products are delivered on time to customers and that products meet all customer expectations regarding quality and performance.
    • Planning and implementing capital improvements for the site and operations.
  • Work proactively with and effectively engaging functional counterparts to ensure overall organizational success and continuity of leadership.
  • Foster a positive employee relations environment through building a culture where employees are motivated and actively engaged in driving continuous improvement in the business.
  • Conducts performance evaluations, coaches and mentors, provides feedback, and takes action as needed to build a high-performing department.
  • Promotes, through both priority setting and personal actions, a positive safety culture that empowers direct reports to take ownership of the safety of their employees and focuses on both proactive actions to eliminate hazards while also ensuring a robust root cause / corrective action process is followed when safety events occur.
  • Embody the Company's ethics and values; maintain the highest corporate governance principles.

Work Arrangement : Onsite
Pay Range: $173,000.00 - $195,000.00 annually
Bonus Eligible: This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
