Job description

Sr. Director, Digital
The Senior Director, Digital will drive digital strategy, sales, customer experience, and operational efficiencies for Rack Room Shoe's digital channels and is responsible for managing best in class analytics, personalization and optimization, product discovery, and customer experiences. This leader will also work closely with the Chief Digital Officer and leadership team and help shape digital commerce strategy to meet Rack room Shoe's strategic initiatives while ensuring effective expense and operations management to deliver profitable goals for the channel.
This role will have P&L ownership of delivering upon our E-comm sales plan, building strategies to support revenue goals, and managing the day-to-day operations of a dynamic omni-channel business. You will combine analytics, key insights, and creativity to set a vision for our digital future. Additionally, you will lead a high-performing team and drive cross-functional execution across marketing, product merchandising, and technology to accelerate growth and ensure alignment with our company's vision and priorities.
What you will get to do:
Strategic Leadership:
• Develop and execute the ecommerce strategy, inclusive of setting revenue targets and growth objectives, elevating the consumer journey, defining channel development strategies and infrastructure requirements.
• Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities, ensuring ecommerce channels are optimized for scalability and profitability.
• Inform comprehensive omni-channel DTC strategy that aligns with business goals and enhances the customer journey across all channels.
• Experience partnering with Finance to oversee the development of detailed sales plans and ongoing forecasts for eCommerce channels by incorporating the sales impact of all marketing efforts and providing explanation for variances
Ecommerce Operations:
• Oversee the end-to-end ecommerce experience, strategy, customer journey, user experience (UX), site experience and site conversion optimization.
• Oversee the broader E-comm ecosystem including product launches, site merchandising, promo/campaign management, and site content updates.
• Partner with the Digital Technologies leader in driving digital innovations that help build the fullest expression of the Rack Room brand, acquire new customers and drive brand loyalty.
• Develop and implement customer acquisition strategies to drive growth, enhance engagement, and expand Rack Room's reach, ensuring a seamless consumer experience aligned with the brand's strategic positioning.
• Oversee performance marketing to ensure a seamless integration of the DTC strategy with broader brand initiatives, including paid advertising, SEO, content marketing, and digital partnerships.
• Monitor the competitive landscape and keep up to date with industry research to identify emerging trends and to drive continual enhancements to our E-comm channel.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
• Utilize analytics and consumer insights to inform decisions that optimize the digital storefront to create personalized, customer-first strategies that drive brand loyalty, engagement, and repeat purchases.
• Build and monitor KPIs, driving continuous improvement through A/B testing, CRO, and conversion funnel optimization.
• Foster a data-driven culture, ensuring the team is leveraging insights for personalized marketing, product recommendations, and customer retention.
• Experience providing appropriate competitive analyses and benchmarking to members of the Executive team and eCommerce management team
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related area and 10 years' experience in eCommerce merchandising, site operations, business management, and performance marketing.
• 10+ years of experience, with at least 5+ years at a senior level (preferably in the apparel/shoes or consumer goods industry).
• 10+ years of eCommerce experience; proven record of accomplishment of scaling global ecommerce operations for a fast-growing brand.
• Experienced leader with sharp skills in influencing strategy and budget decisions for online business of at least $100m in sales
• Proven ability to own and deliver revenue plans in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Strong business acumen, with the ability to balance long-term strategy and short-term operational execution.
• Strong understanding of key e-commerce and retail & apparel metrics & KPIs.
• Deep expertise in ecommerce analytics, A/B testing, conversion optimization, and using data to drive decision-making.
• Proficiency in ecommerce platforms (Shopify Plus, CDP, Klavio, Hybris SAP, etc.), as well as tools for analytics (Google Analytics, Adobe, Microstrategy, Data Bricks, Power BI, etc.).
• Strong understanding of ecommerce platforms, digital commerce architectures, digital marketing strategies, and consumer behavior in a global context.
• Exceptional leadership skills with experience building, scaling, and managing high-performing teams.
• Ability to drive technological innovation and leverage emerging tools to enhance the site experience.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and a deep understanding of scaling digital businesses.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to inspire and engage teams while aligning with executive leadership.
• Highly adaptable, solution-oriented, and proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Physical Demands:
This position is primarily sedentary. Applicants, with or without accommodations, must be able to sit for extended periods, as well as occasionally stand and walk. The role requires reaching, grasping, and possessing fine motor skills for typing. Additionally, candidates should be able to lift light objects, such as files, bend or stoop to access lower drawers, and have good near vision for computer work.

  • This position is located in Charlotte, NC and the candidate must be willing to relocate, if not already in the Charlotte Metro area.
