Job description

Amazon is seeking an exceptional Senior Manager, Software Development to own and drive SW integration and validation on simulation and emulation platforms, own test strategy and test plans including policy validation along with safety for next-generation advanced robotics systems.
You will build deep partnerships with internal robotics teams, our simulation team, and influence product design from concept through production deployment. This role requires deep knowledge and experience using simulation platforms, building emulation platforms, driving test strategy and vision for software and scale for the volume while ensuring sim to real gap measurements accurately measured and published. You will partner with engineering leaders across the robotics organization, shape our product architecture for testability and automation, and define our sw integration and simulation testing roadmap.
Key job responsibilities
- End-to-End Architectural Vision for Software Validation:
- Adversary Testing & Platform Integration: Interface with the platform team to enable adversary testing of the simulation platform, ensuring robustness and resilience under edge-case and failure-mode scenarios.
- Setting HIL test beds and continuous validation. Building CICD pipelines
- Virtualized Dynamic Environments for Field Testability: Provide virtualized dynamic environments that allow for realizing the testability of software in field environments, enabling rapid iteration and validation without physical deployment.
Safety Qualification through Simulation: Provide virtualized dynamic environments to qualify software for safety, ensuring compliance with safety standards and enabling rigorous validation of autonomous behaviors prior to real-world deployment.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of engineering team management experience
- 10+ years of software development experience
- 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience
- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- 10+ years of experience with embedded device/OS in the areas of FW/SW or test engineering development. This role will need deep expertise working with devices/hardware/systems

- Experience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applications

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
