Job description

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a talented Sr. CAD Designer to work within our Transportation and Infrastructure Unit, in the Ohio River Valley sector. The successful candidate will work out of our Fishers, Indiana office and enjoy working on challenging bridge and roadway projects. The team-oriented environment will allow them to develop professionally and grow in today's global environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working for Indiana DOT and/or Ohio, Kentucky or West Virginia DOTs
  • Experienced in AutoCad and Bentley projects required
  • Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer (ORD) a plus
  • Can perform calculations for structural geometry, reinforcing bars layout, and quantities
  • Capable of working with Junior Engineers and directing additional CAD Staff
  • NBIS Inspection experience a plus

General Characteristics

  • Interprets, organizes, executes, and coordinates assignments; serves as a Task Manager for small to midsize projects; serves as the technical specialist in the field of expertise; up to speed on industry standards and Company policies and procedures.

  • Driver’s License

Technical Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage tasks to successful completion for time, budget, schedule, and quality.

Project and Task Management

  • Responsible for task management and adherence to deadlines and scope.

  • Provides advisement on scopes, budgets, and schedules for work to be completed; works with other project leadership to complete their assigned tasks; maintains GAI's procedures and protocols.

Communication Skills

  • Routinely works with various departments within the company and effectively communicates with engineers, managers, and other CAD designers.
