Job description


The Content Manager is a central member of the firm's Communications team, leading content development and marketing initiatives that support the Firm’s industry-leading reputation.
Working closely with colleagues across Communications, Digital, Business Development and legal practice areas, this position develops multi-channel content to strengthen firm's visibility and brand.  Strong writing, research and communication skills, along with an understanding of legal language and business transactions, are essential.
The Content Manager will also take a leading role in shaping and executing the Firm’s editorial awards program, from understanding the requirements of awards submissions and identifying competitive matters, to working with lawyers to craft compelling content.
The scheduled hours for this position are 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET. The incumbent may be required to work overtime depending on the needs of the practice area lawyers and Business Development department.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 
  • Manage and mentor 2–3 junior Communications team members.
  • Lead shaping and executing of awards program, including drafting and editing submissions, managing deadlines and coordinating approvals.
  • Write, edit and publish content in collaboration with lawyers and internal teams, including client wins, events, firm news and press coverage across digital and print channels.
  • Oversee the review and approval process for content, ensuring accuracy, consistency with firm style, and timely delivery.
  • Partner with Creative Services to integrate content into designed materials and campaigns.
  • Manage the Firm’s webinar program and support podcast initiatives, including planning, scheduling, publishing, and promotion.
  • Maintain and distribute the Firm editorial calendar and identify new opportunities for thought leadership and visibility.
  • Track and report on publications, awards and communications activities.
  • Take on additional projects as needed to support senior team leaders and other stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading and research skills (writing/editing test required).
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology and processes, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, accessible language.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, balance competing priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and client-focused, with strong collaboration skills across teams, offices and time zones.
  • Experience managing junior team members and working effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Tech-savvy, with proficiency in standard business tools (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe) and willingness to learn new platforms, such as Dealcloud. 
  • A commitment to the highest standards of excellence and professionalism that are the hallmarks of the legal practice.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of five years of work experience in a law firm, a professional services environment, credible news organization, or comparable position in a corporation is required.
  • Experience as a lawyer, paralegal, business/legal reporter, editor, writing tutor or self-proclaimed grammar geek is welcomed.
  • BA or equivalent required.

COMPENSATION
The base salary range offered for this role will be between $145,000 and $190,000.Â
