Position Summary

The Product Content Manager is responsible for developing, governing, and optimizing product information across the organization's digital commerce ecosystem and for proper maintenance of the Product Information Management (PIM) system. This role ensures that product content is accurate, complete, customer-centric, and optimized for discovery across e-commerce, search engines, AI-powered search experiences, distributor channels, and digital catalogs.

Working cross-functionally with Product Management, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, IT, PIM Librarian, and other Commercial teams, the Product Content Manager establishes product content standards, taxonomy, governance processes, workflows, and digital content strategies that improve customer experience, support product launches, and enable scalable omnichannel distribution.

Key Responsibilities

Product Content Strategy

  • Develop and execute the organization's product content strategy to support digital commerce, customer self-service, and product discoverability.
  • Define standards for product naming, descriptions, marketing copy, specifications, attributes, and digital assets.
  • Ensure product information effectively supports customer decision-making throughout the buying journey.

Product Information Management (PIM)

  • Partner with the PIM Librarian and other PIM team members to maximize the value of the InRiver PIM platform.
  • Define product attribute models, metadata standards, taxonomies, and category structures.
  • Establish governance processes for creating, reviewing, approving, and publishing product information.
  • Maintain governance standards for ongoing product lifecycle management, including new products, updates, discontinuations, and product substitutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement of product data quality and completeness.

Digital Commerce & Customer Experience

  • Optimize product content for e-commerce, digital catalogs, and customer self-service platforms.
  • Improve product navigation, filtering, comparison capabilities, and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Define and manage product relationships, including accessories, compatible products, replacement products, and substitute products.
  • Collaborate with UX and e-commerce teams to improve product discovery and conversion.
  • Coordinate digital product launch readiness across all customer-facing channels.
  • Partner with Product Management and Marketing to ensure timely publication of product information and digital assets.

Search, SEO & AI Readiness

  • Optimize product information for internal site search, search engine optimization (SEO), Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).
  • Develop keyword strategies, product synonyms, alternate terminology, abbreviations, and search metadata.
  • Structure product content to improve discoverability by AI-powered search tools, digital assistants, and large language models.
  • Ensure structured product information supports future AI-driven customer experiences.

Performance & Analytics

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product content quality and digital performance.
  • Measure product attribute completeness, content quality, search effectiveness, and digital engagement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer experience through enhanced product information.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Information Management, Digital Commerce, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Information Management, Digital Commerce, Product Marketing, or Master Data Management.
  • Experience working with a Product Information Management (PIM) platform (e.g., InRiver, Salsify, Akeneo, Pimcore).
  • Strong understanding of product taxonomy, metadata, and information architecture.
  • Experience supporting e-commerce platforms and digital product catalogs.
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of SEO, site search optimization, AEO, and GEO best practices.
  • Experience in the medical device, healthcare, or life sciences industry.
  • Experience with digital asset management (DAM) systems.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM), ERP, and CRM integrations.
  • Experience using analytics platforms to measure digital content performance.

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
