Job Overview (What This Role Is All About):
We're looking for a consumer-focused, digitally savvy eCommerce Senior Manager of Digital Product & Operations to help shape the future of Cotopaxi.com. Reporting to the Director of eCommerce, you'll lead the evolution of our digital experience using customer insights, data, technology, and emerging trends to identify opportunities, prioritize our roadmap, and bring new ideas to life. You'll work across Engineering, UX/UI, Brand, Creative, Merchandising, and eCommerce to deliver thoughtful site enhancements, streamline operations, and create an exceptional shopping experience for our customers.
The ideal candidate is equal parts strategic thinker, problem solver, and doer - someone who brings structure to complexity, thrives in a fast-moving environment, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves to get things done. They'll help Cotopaxi stay ahead of what's next in eCommerce, from SEO and AI-powered search to onsite merchandising and emerging technologies, while keeping our purpose at the center of the work. At Cotopaxi, we believe business can be a force for good, and you'll help make that belief tangible through a digital experience that inspires people to explore, adventure, and do good.
Job Responsibilities (How You'll Make An Impact):
Digital Product Strategy & Roadmap
  • Own and continuously evolve Cotopaxi.com's digital product roadmap, partnering with eCommerce, Engineering, UX/UI, Brand, Creative, and Merchandising to prioritize and deliver site enhancements, new functionality, and technical capabilities.
  • Lead cross-functional digital product initiatives from concept through launch and optimization, balancing customer needs, business impact, technical requirements, resources, timelines, and budget.
  • Establish scalable processes and best practices for digital product development, prioritization, and continuous improvement.

Site Experience, Search & Growth
  • Lead day-to-day site operations and content management, ensuring a high-performing, stable, and seamless customer experience.
  • Partner cross-functionally to optimize the customer journey, conversion, onsite search, merchandising, and overall site experience.
  • Own Cotopaxi.com's organic visibility strategy across traditional search and emerging AI-driven discovery channels, partnering with Engineering and Content/Brand to improve SEO, AEO/GEO, and discoverability.
  • Stay current on eCommerce and consumer technology trends, identifying opportunities to innovate and drive growth.

Analytics & Optimization
  • Own recurring eCommerce performance reporting, including our proprietary Del Dia collection results, ensuring accurate, actionable, and timely insights for the eCommerce team.
  • Leverage customer behavior, site analytics, and product/category KPIs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and inform roadmap priorities.
  • Establish measurable outcomes for digital initiatives and use performance data to continuously optimize the site and customer experience.

Technology, Vendors & Operations
  • Evaluate and optimize Cotopaxi's eCommerce technology stack, partnering with Engineering and the Director of eCommerce to identify risks, improve functionality, and implement new capabilities and integrations.
  • Manage external technology and vendor relationships, ensuring partners deliver against business objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Drive operational excellence through improved workflows, tooling, tagging systems, SOPs, documentation, and team training.

Planning & Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Support the Director of eCommerce with planning, forecasting, and operational and capital expense budgets related to digital product and site initiatives.
  • Lead matrixed, cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority to create clarity, remove roadblocks, and drive work forward.
  • Ensure digital initiatives and site operations align with broader brand, financial, inventory, and business objectives.

The Ideal Candidate (What You'll Bring to the Role):
  • 6-8+ years of eCommerce, digital product, or site operations experience, with a track record of leading digital product initiatives from strategy and planning through launch and optimization.
  • Strong eCommerce and digital product expertise, with experience using customer insights, analytics, and performance data to prioritize opportunities and improve digital experiences.
  • Proven project and process management skills, including the ability to establish repeatable workflows, manage complex cross-functional initiatives, develop SOPs, and deliver work on time and within budget.
  • Experience with SEO and emerging AI-driven search, including a working knowledge of AEO/GEO and how customers are discovering brands and products through generative search and AI-powered tools.
  • Technical fluency, including a working understanding of HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery, and the ability to partner effectively with Engineering on digital products, integrations, and site functionality.
  • Experience managing technology vendors and external partners, with the ability to build strong relationships, manage priorities, and hold partners accountable to timelines, budgets, and business outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, diagnose complex issues, and turn data and insights into clear priorities and action.
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and influence, with the ability to build alignment, navigate ambiguity, and move work forward without direct reporting authority.
  • A self-directed, curious, and solutions-oriented approach, with a willingness to roll up your sleeves, tackle challenges, and continuously look for ways to make things better.
