What You'll Be Doing

The Senior Client Service Associate-1919 will provide administrative, operational, and analytical support to one or more 1919 Portfolio Managers, Investment Associates and Client Advisors and will be responsible for day-to-day administrative management of individual client, institutional and trust portfolios. High-touch client service is a hallmark of 1919; the candidate should be skilled in and enjoy client service and should have experience working closely with clients and co-workers. The Senior Client Service Associate must stay current on financial markets and instruments, and comply with firm policies, procedures, and Code of Ethics.

What We're Looking For

Assist with all client administrative functions including, but not limited to: account openings, account terminations, receiving assets, obtaining and adjusting cost basis, distributing assets, handling disbursements, processing cash, delivering in-kind charitable contributions, handling 401(k) rollovers, determining appropriate paperwork and governing documents, and ensuring correct client billing. Prepare customized client materials for periodic reporting and meeting including the coordination of presentation material delivery for client and prospective client meetings, in addition to potentially attending client meetings. Provide trade support for the Portfolio Managers and Client Advisors. Closely monitor investment portfolios for cash, maturities and settlements to ensure that funds are available to clients and that portfolios align with investment guidelines. Instructs custodians to wire funds or prepare checks at the request of the client after review and approval of supporting documents and instructions.  Coordinate with third parties such as attorneys, accountants and auditors as requested by client. Proactively review clients' security holdings and daily transaction activity, while working closely with trading, operations and various custodians to ensure that positions and asset values are up to date and accurate. Develop client relationships through timely and personable communication. Maintain digital record of telephone and written contact with clients and third parties, including drafting client correspondence for review and approval. Review all reports, including performance, for accuracy and work with Operations to ensure accurate client reporting. Test new applications and system enhancements. Update relevant information in portfolio management accounting systems and Client Relationship Management (CRM) system (Salesforce). Work on larger and more sophisticated accounts.  Has autonomy over work and may be required to review the work of Client Service Associates who are less tenured. 

What You'll Bring

Proven experience working in a high-touch client service environment. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent interpersonal and communication services, including client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of client satisfaction. Highly organized, efficient and attentive to detail. Self-motivated and able to multi-task in an independent and timely manner. Team player who goes above and beyond in anticipating the needs of portfolio management teams. Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, the industry, the analysis and reporting of financial data, and associated terminology. Knowledge of and experience with using analytical skills. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problem solving.

Education & Experience

Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Minimum Required: 3+ years of related experience in financial services, or a combination of education and internships relating to Private Wealth Management. Preferred: Experience in Private Wealth Management or Portfolio Administration.

Actual salaries may vary, and may be based on several factors, including but not limited to each candidate's qualifications, skills, and overall competencies for the position.
