Job Posting: Senior Pastor
Church Address: 256 North El Camino Real, San Mateo, CA 94401
Church Expectations:
Peninsula Community Alliance Church (http://www.p-cac.org/) is seeking a Senior Pastor to lead our congregation. The ideal candidate should be devoted to Christ, capable of guiding the church's growth and development according to God's will, and demonstrate vision, passion, strong communication skills, and a close walk with God. A clear calling to serve the Lord is essential.
Church History:
Peninsula Community Alliance Church was established in 1996 and relocated to in San Mateo, California in 2005. As part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, the church has consistently upheld the truths of the Old and New Testaments and revered the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Currently, the Cantonese congregation averages over 60 attendees, while the Mandarin congregation has over 30 attendees. The church is actively developing an English ministry and expanding children's and youth programs, with a commitment to serving the Chinese community in the Bay Area, particularly in San Mateo.
Primary Responsibilities and Character Requirements:
  1. Spiritual Vision and Direction
    a) Set the future direction and development of the church's ministries.
    b) Clearly communicate ministry burdens to church staff and members.
    c) Encourage the church to move in the right direction.
    d) Conduct regular evaluations and improvements during progress.
    e) Participate in church activities and provide appropriate guidance.
  2. Shepherding and Caring for the Congregation
    a) Nurture believers with sound doctrine to foster spiritual growth.
    b) Understand the needs of members through fellowship and communication.
    c) Serve as a role model for the flock, following Christ and making disciples.
    d) Provide training to equip believers and demonstrate strong teaching abilities.
    e) Have a burden for evangelism and leading others to Christ.
  3. Pastoral Qualities and Example
    a) Demonstrate love and kindness.
    b) Be approachable, humble, and skilled in listening and communication.
    c) Lead a devout life, emphasizing prayer and God's Word.
    d) Exhibit righteousness, integrity, and honesty, aligning with biblical truths.
  4. Functional Requirements
    a) Fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin; proficient in spoken and written English.
    b) Must obtain a Christian and Missionary Alliance license upon appointment.
    c) Hold a degree from an evangelical theological institution and have church ministry experience.
