Triple Cities Metal Finishing is seeking a motivated, action-oriented Chemical Process Engineer to join our team! Since 1945, TCMF has made innovative, as well as necessary changes in the way we conduct everyday business. From advanced surface preparation to highly technical finishing processes, we can handle the smallest pieces to large parts over 30 feet long.
Our three shifts of skilled professionals in our 125,000 square foot facility have made us the vendor of choice for metal finishing for Northeastern United States. Whether it is electroplating, electroless plating, wet paint, or powder coat, we finish it right the first time!
Position Overview
  • Participate in process optimization and troubleshooting operational issues.
  • Analyzes operating procedures, equipment and machinery functions to improve raw material efficiency and improve product quality.
  • Troubleshoot problems with chemical/plating processes
  • Determine effective use of unit operations exercising judgment to compromise between process requirements, economic evaluation, operator effectiveness, and physical and health hazards.
  • Evaluate chemical equipment and processes to identify ways to optimize performance or to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Manage technical projects for Chemical Processes to completion.
  • Direct activities of operators on equipment including condensers, absorption and evaporation towers, pumps, valves, tanks, boilers, compressors, pipelines, etc. to effect required chemical or physical change.
  • Perform testing on plating tanks, as well as assist with the cleaning and prepping of plating tanks.
  • Perform testing and measurements to determine degree of control over variables such as temperature, density, specific gravity, and pressure.
  • Manages and controls the movement, storage, and packaging of liquids and gases.
  • Provide technical assistance to resolve environmental or safety issues.
  • Promote a safe work environment - lead by example. Ensure staff is following established safety standards.

Qualifications
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience working as a chemical engineer or technician with a focus on testing preferred.
    • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related field preferred.
    • Knowledge of chemical unit operations/ equipment - reactors, distillation, condensers, adsorption, compressors, evaporators, pumps, piping, heat exchangers, etc. Required
  • Skills:
    • Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information and/or ideas professionally across all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to create and maintain positive and professional relationships at all levels of the organization.
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Ability to problem-solve issues to their root cause and work to implement corrective action.
    • Excellent organization skills.

Total Compensation Package
  • Wage
    • $62,500-$80,000 Compensation depends on the selected candidate's experience.
