Job description

  • Own commercial performance across a portfolio of third-party sales channels
  • Build high-value partner relationships that drive quality outcomes for Origin's SME customers
  • Melbourne | Permanent Opportunity based

Join a team that's All Kinds of Useful

At Origin, being useful is more than a tagline - it’s how we approach work every day. As a collective, we’re a team that thrives on finding better ways, working together, and owning our impact. From powering homes to delivering award-winning internet and helping to lead Australia’s energy transition. If you’re driven by purpose and excited to be part of something bigger, we’d love to have you on the journey.

About the role:

As Channel Manager – SME within Origin's Third Party Sales team, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of third-party sales channels supporting our SME customer base. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Third Party Sales, you'll build and manage effective relationships with channel partners, drive commercial performance against sales and financial targets, and ensure every channel operates to Origin's compliance and quality standards. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders across Sales Assurance, Legal, Regulatory and Compliance to keep channels compliant, while shaping the channel plans and campaigns that grow the business.

Why this role matters?

This role sits at the heart of Origin's third-party sales performance. You'll shape the channel plans and campaigns that keep our SME sales channels running well, negotiate commercial agreements that protect Origin's interests, and build the partner relationships that open up new opportunities for the business. You'll also help keep our channels compliant — from consumer law through to complaints handling — so customers get a fair, consistent experience no matter which channel they come through.

What will you bring?

  • A tertiary qualification in marketing or business, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience managing channel or partner relationships, ideally within energy or a similar service-based industry.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • An understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements, or a willingness to get up to speed quickly.
