Job description

  • Manage major builder accounts with real autonomy and impact
  • Build lasting partnerships with Australia's biggest builders
  • Melbourne based | 4 days a week in CBD Office, one day WFH

Join a team that's All Kinds of Useful

At Origin, being useful is more than a tagline - it’s how we approach work every day. As a collective, we’re a team that thrives on finding better ways, working together, and owning our impact. From powering homes to delivering award-winning internet and helping to lead Australia’s energy transition. If you’re driven by purpose and excited to be part of something bigger, we’d love to have you on the journey.

About the role:

We’re growing our Account Management team within Retail’s Contracted Builders channel, with two permanent, full-time roles based in Melbourne. This team manages Origin’s relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 volume and project home builders from the day a Business Development Manager signs them onto contract, right through to onboarding, connections and beyond.

Once a builder is onboarded, you’ll own the relationship day to day: making sure builders have what they need for site readiness and a consistent connection experience, resolving queries about connections, billing and rebates, and keeping an eye on how each builder is tracking against their contracted volumes.

You don’t need a background in construction or building – we’ll teach you the Origin process. What matters most is how you manage relationships, competing priorities and the occasional bit of pressure.

Why this role matters?

The relationships you build directly protect and grow a significant part of Origin’s connections business. Get it right, and new homeowners get a smoother connection experience, our builder partners keep renewing with Origin, and you’ll have a genuine seat at the table with some of Australia’s largest home builders. You’ll work closely with our Business Development Managers and join a small, close-knit team, with real autonomy over how you manage your own portfolio.

What will you bring?

  • A track record in account management, portfolio management or relationship management, ideally juggling multiple accounts or stakeholders at once
  • Strong time management, critical thinking and problem-solving skills — staying calm, organised and clear-headed when priorities compete and the pressure is on
  • A natural relationship-builder who earns trust quickly, from site supervisors through to senior builder executives
  • Comfortable with occasional travel (roughly once a quarter to every six months) for customer visits and industry events
