Job description

Eaton’s AER MSD Mission System Division division is currently seeking a Sr. Quality Manager. This role is based at our Davenport, IA facility. The expected annual salary range for this role is $113000 - $165000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do

Position Overview:

  • Attain plant Quality Goals, maintain and drive a culture of continuous improvement. Deploy the applicable elements and initiatives of EBS tools (EQMS) to accomplish Operational Excellence. Plan, execute and monitor actions to support Quality processes to assure attainment of goals.
  • Assure customer satisfaction through our Quality System; accountable for quality performance by monitoring Quality related metrics, conducting Quality Assessments. Making improvements in the quality procedures and developing innovations to improve Incoming quality and customer experience.

In this function you will:

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development to team members while fostering a culture of safety, quality, compliance, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and prioritize operational, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement activities across the facility to support business objectives, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, FAA, AS9100, safety, and internal standards through effective processes, controls, audits, and risk management practices.
  • Drive quality planning, process verification, inspection, testing, validation, and NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) activities throughout product and operational lifecycles.
  • Monitor and analyze operational, quality, compliance, and performance metrics to identify trends, improve reliability, reduce risk, and enhance overall business performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, customers, and stakeholders to resolve issues, implement corrective and preventive actions, and drive sustainable improvements.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve policies, procedures, work instructions, control plans, and management systems that support operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead problem-solving, root cause analysis, Lean initiatives, audits, and continuous improvement programs to improve quality, efficiency, process capability, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of operations or engineering or quality management experience in a manufacturing environment OR Associates degree and 7 years of operations or engineering or quality management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in an AS91000 and/or ISO 9001 environment and proven ability to understand and manage quality systems and regulatory standards within a manufacturing organization.

  • This position requires access to export-controlled information.   • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 70 miles of the Davenport, IA facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering from an accredited instituation.
  • Aerospace, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or Food and Drug Administraction (FDA) regulatory experience.
  • Contract review experience
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • 3+ years’ experience with Root Cause Analysis Tools, Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Lifecycle Management (LCM) experience.
  • 2+ years’ Experience with Quality Management System (QMS) Auditing.
  • 3+ years’ experience in reading and interpreting technical documents, including prints (GD&T), drawings, and engineering orders.
  • Project/Program Management experience
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) experience is highly desired, including associated tools such as characteristics matrices, process flow diagrams, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEAs), Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • Highly skilled user of Microsoft office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio
  • Strong understanding of ASME Y14.5 standard - An understanding of budgets and the estimating process
  • Quality assurance related experience in a design and manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, Government/Military contracts, and Aerospace industry experience.
  • Military aviation or aircraft modification experience.
  • National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (Nadcap) experience.
