Inner Parish Security Corporation (IPSC) is seeking a full-time Senior Accountant to join our corporate office in Hammond, LA.

We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented accounting professional to support the Company's financial operations, maintain accurate financial records, assist with month-end and year-end close, provide financial analysis, and help ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

POSITION DETAILS

Location: Hammond, LASchedule: Full-Time, In-PersonPay: Competitive and commensurate with experiencePay Frequency: Weekly

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Accountant will support accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Analyze financial results, variances, and trends.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Support accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash management processes as needed.
  • Monitor customer contract terms and support accurate accounting and billing practices.
  • Assist with internal financial reports and management reporting.
  • Support annual audits, tax preparation, and compliance activities.
  • Assist with internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency.
  • Work with department managers and operational leadership to support business objectives.
  • Provide guidance to accounting staff and assist with training.
  • Complete special projects, reporting, and other accounting duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, and financial analysis.
  • Experience with ERP and accounting software preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • CPA, CPA candidate, or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience with multi-location or service-based organizations.
  • Experience with large customer accounts and contract billing.
  • Familiarity with revenue recognition concepts.
