Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Senior Accountant to join the accounting team and assist with general accounting, cost accounting, and financial reporting. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant plays a critical role in providing timely and accurate financial information to support business decisions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Execute month-end and year-end close including preparing and posting journal entries
  1. Review financial documents and data to ensure consistency and accuracy across reporting systems
  1. Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  1. Ensure compliance with GAAP and IFRS accounting standards
  1. Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations
  1. Collaborate with the Accounting Manager and perform other duties as assigned
  1. Identify opportunities for improvement and efficiencies

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  1. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  1. Must have strong organizational skills, be detail oriented, a team player, and able to consistently meet or beat deadlines.
  1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  1. Proficient with the Microsoft Suite of Products, including Excel and Word

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Accounting/Finance degree required.
  1. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience required.
  1. Inventory Accounting in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  1. Experience with ERP system is strongly preferred.
  1. Professional certification (CPA) is preferred.

Minimum Experience Required
  • Five (5) years of related experience
  • Experience in QAD and/or OneStream a plus, prior experience in AR and metal accounting preferred
