The qualifications for this career are a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, sales, or marketing; experience with quantitative and qualitative research; and significant industry experience. A senior account executive should have communication and business strategy skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a senior account executive?

To thrive as a Senior Account Executive, you need expertise in sales strategy, client relationship management, and a proven track record of meeting revenue targets, often supported by a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with CRM software (such as Salesforce), sales analytics tools, and industry-specific platforms is typically required. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills help you build trust and deliver value to clients. These competencies are crucial for driving business growth, retaining key accounts, and maintaining a competitive position in the market.

Job description

***We are hiring for AEs, Senior AEs, and Elite AEs in many major U.S. Markets across the United States.
This is a Hybrid Outside Sales Position where your office will be home base but you are required to travel to local in person
meetings on a daily basis. Please do not apply if you are looking for a remote only or work-from-home position.***

Who we are:

We dream big. We love food. We're building the next generation of marketing software, and our mission is to support the lifeblood of our communities—locally owned restaurants and bars.

Founded in 2015, SpotHopper is the leading all-in-one marketing and operations platform for independent restaurants. Today, we partner with 20,000 restaurants nationwide and are one of the fastest-growing tech companies in the country.

Our platform helps operators elevate their online presence, drive more traffic, hire better talent, and compete with national chains—all from one easy-to-use solution.

Who we are looking for:

The Senior Account Executive position is designed for proven, top-performing sellers who have consistently operated at the highest level and want to be rewarded accordingly.

We are looking for

  • Senior-level sales professionals with 5+ years of closing experience in SaaS, marketing, or high-velocity full-cycle sales roles
  • documented history of top performance—President's Club, Summit Club, leaderboard finishes, record months/quarters, or similar recognition
  • A top performer and extremely hard worker in terms of prospecting and generating pipeline
  • Consistent quota over-attainment (not just one good year) in competitive, hunter-driven environments
  • Comfort owning complex conversations with small business owners and confidently guiding them through a consultative sale
  • Self-directed operators who thrive with autonomy and take full ownership of their territory and results
  • Highly competitive, disciplined, and resilient—this role is for people who expect to win
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to tailor messaging based on each operator's goals and challenges
  • Those who have worked in or sold to the service industry before, please include this on your resume
  • Eagerness to be in the field, build real relationships, and do the work required to dominate a territory

Important:

Please include specific quotas, attainment percentages, and notable achievements on your resume (e.g., % to quota, rank on team, awards, or records held).

What you'll do:

Senior Account Executives operate as trusted advisors and senior sellers within the organization.

You will:

  • Own the entire sales cycle from cold outreach through close
  • Focus exclusively on new business acquisition using a consultative, value-driven approach
  • Spend significant time in the field meeting face-to-face with restaurant and bar owners
  • Hold 1–4 in-person meetings per day, demonstrating the SpotHopper platform and tailoring solutions to operator needs
  • Manage and dominate a defined territory (roughly a 45–60 minute radius, territory-dependent)
  • Partner closely with Customer Success post-sale while maintaining accountability for deal quality

Set the standard for performance, professionalism, and execution on the sales team

What we offer:

  • Compensation for an Senior Account Executive:
  • $85k-95k base salary, Elite AEs $100k
  • Year one OTE is $165k+ (Elite AEs is $200k+)
  • Year 2+ will see top performers entering 215-275k range
  • Performance based equity options
  • $500 monthly stipend for operational expenses
  • Healthcare, vision, dental, and life insurance
  • 401K matching
  • Unlimited time off (conditional on quota attainment)
  • All Account Executives receive a $500 monthly dining stipend to spend on any and all local restaurants. We want our employees to be experts in the service industry and their market, and continue to help these small businesses any way we can.
