The Lead Power Electronics Engineer will lead the design and development of next-generation DC-DC power conversion products for AI infrastructure, hyperscale data centers, telecom, and advanced computing applications. This role will focus on both high-voltage and low-voltage intermediate bus converter (IBC) modules, including regulated and unregulated bus architectures, high-current power delivery systems, and advanced isolated and non-isolated conversion platforms.
The engineer will drive the complete hardware development cycle-from system architecture and topology selection through simulation, validation, and high-volume production-while collaborating with global R&D teams across firmware, controls, magnetics, thermal, mechanical, and manufacturing disciplines.
This position requires strong expertise in intermediate bus converter architectures, high-density power design, resonant and soft-switching topologies, and advanced GaN and SiC power devices. Experience with both high-voltage bus conversion systems (800V and 400V architectures) and low-voltage high-current IBC modules is highly desired.
The role will also provide technical leadership, mentor engineering teams, support technology roadmaps, and help position OmniOn Power as a leader in next-generation AI and data center power delivery solutions.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of advanced DC-DC power converters, including:
    • High-voltage intermediate bus converters
    • Low-voltage high-current IBC modules
    • 800V-to-48V architectures
    • 400V-to-48V conversion systems
    • Regulated and unregulated bus converters
    • Multiphase and high-current power stages
    • Resonant and soft-switching topologies
  • Define and optimize power architectures for:
    • Efficiency
    • Power density
    • Thermal performance
    • Reliability
    • EMI/EMC compliance
    • Fast transient response
  • Drive topology selection and optimization using simulation tools such as:
    • PSPICE
    • SIMPLIS
    • SIMetrix
    • LTspice

  • Lead schematic development and guide high-density PCB layout with emphasis on:
    • High-current routing
    • Parasitic reduction
    • Thermal management
    • EMI mitigation
    • Manufacturability
  • Perform hands-on prototype validation, debugging, characterization, and failure analysis.
  • Collaborate with firmware, digital controls, magnetics, thermal, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust product execution and production readiness.
  • Support existing product platforms through optimization, lifecycle management, and component alternate qualification.
  • Mentor junior engineers, lead technical reviews, and contribute to innovation initiatives and intellectual property development.
Basic Qualifications
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field (M.S. preferred)
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in power electronics hardware design
