Job description

Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Finance Director or designee the Accounting Analyst performs at the professional accounting level. The position is responsible for assisting Finance Management, conducting accounting related analysis, forecasting, and reporting, cost controls, and finance operations improvement projects.

Location: Oakland

Job Responsibilities

·Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and cost analysis, to identify key financial drivers and provide actionable insights.

·Manage organizational costs in assigned cost centers through strategic management of contracts, service agreement, and routine expenses.

·Improve accounting and financial operations to enhance efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy.

·Prepare and distribute accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with accounting standard regulations.

·Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgeted and forecast figures and provide explanations for variances.

·Create and maintain financial models to support decision-making, scenario analysis, and long-term financial planning.

·Project manage finance operation projects to timely and successful conclusion and effectively manage finance programs.

·Collaborate with other departments to gather relevant feedback, financial data, and/or provide financial insights.

·Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by senior management.

·Conduct coaching and training to Finance or relevant staff and creating/updating resources that provide guidance

·May conduct other accounting functions, such as, but not limited to, accounts payable, payroll, compliance, and bank reconciliations.

·Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

·Bachelor's degree.

·3+ years of relevant and progressive experience.

·1+ year of experience in accounting analysis, reporting, budgeting and/or forecasting.

·Strong proficiency in financial analysis tools and software.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: The current salary range is $76,054.81 – $124,917 based on qualifications and experience. SEIU Local 1021 offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package.
