FT ARMED SECURITY FLEX

This is an Armed Security Officer FLEX position.

39 hours per week

Tuesday 0715-1700 Norwich

Wednesday 0715-1700 New Britain

Thursdays 0845-1830 Enfield

Fridays 0715-1700 Willimantic

(Saturday, Sunday, Monday Off)

Current Wage: $26.35- $27.17 hour

REQUIREMENTS:Minimum five years law enforcement, corrections or active military armed experience

Must currently own a full-size Glock or Smith & Wesson in either 9mm or .40 caliber OR Sig Sauer, Beretta, CZ-USA, etc. Must be full size (minimum 4.25" barrel length) and CT compliant magazine where it doesn't hold more than 10 rounds.

Wages

  • Guaranteed wage increases each year (2025–2028) tied to the Connecticut Standard Wage Act.
  • Guard I rates rise from ~$19.69–$21.68 (2025) up to $25.36 (2028).
  • Guard II rates rise from ~$23.35–$24.46 (2025) up to $30.89 (2028).
  • Minimum 4 hours’ pay if called in or if a scheduled shift is cancelled without notice.

  • Overtime after 40 hours/week at time-and-a-half.
  • At least 1 day off per week.
  • No more than 16 hours in a 24-hour period (except extreme circumstances).
  • Paid 30-minute lunch where practicable; unpaid if fully relieved.
  • Right to sit at reasonable intervals on standing posts.
