Job description

At Guardcorps, our Security Officers are proficient and strive to support our Companyโ€™s sole purpose which is to protect and secure the businesses we serve. We seek individuals capable of monitoring, analyzing, and identifying situations and determining the best approach to resolve the situations they encounter. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, an impressive ability to communicate well with others, and the ability to think critically in any situation. This position requires flexible availability and access to your own transportation.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is an On-Call position. We get urgent calls for coverage weekly, and can guarantee a minimum amount of hours, HOWEVER, candidate must have their phone on and be able to dispatch to sites at all times. Differentials and performance bonuses to be discussed. Armed certification preferred.
Specific Duties and Job Functions:
โ€ข Answer calls from Operations and dispatch to client sites
โ€ข Perform security patrols of designated areas by foot or vehicle.
โ€ข Observe for any conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
โ€ข Respond to emergency situations and/or alarms and contact appropriate emergency services based on the situation.
โ€ข Monitor for the presence of unauthorized persons
โ€ข Maintain access control of premises and monitor entrances and exits
โ€ข Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities
โ€ข Provide a high level of customer service and assistance to clients, client employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
Minimum Qualifications
โ€ข High school diploma or GED equivalent
โ€ข 18 years of age or older
โ€ข Security experience preferred
โ€ข Must possess a State Issued License as a Security Officer (where applicable) or meet qualifications to complete state-required Security Officer Affidavit/Registration.
โ€ข Be able to pass a drug screen
โ€ข Have access to reliable transportation
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
โ€ข Good working knowledge of Security Operations.
โ€ข Understanding of Safety Practices in a Business environment.
โ€ข Ability to provide a high level of Customer Service.
โ€ข Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
โ€ข Be computer proficient
โ€ข Read, understand, and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing in communicating with the public and co-workers, giving and receiving instructions
โ€ข High attention to detail
โ€ข Ability to work in various environments, including but not limited to adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain, and heat.
