Here's the Gist:

The Security Systems Specialist is a member of the Global Protection Team reporting to the Security Systems Technology Team. The Security Systems Specialist also supports all matters involving the Global Protection department on an as-needed basis. This is an on-site appointment and the person in this position will need to report on-site to our Durham, NC campus with no option for remote work.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Provide oversight of security integrators and/or vendors from scheduling to installations to project completion ensuring quality and timeline requirements are met.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in department software (i.e. physical access control system, video management, visitor management, NVR management, and SQL data).
  • Utilize project tracking tools and systems to accurately document milestones, issues, corrective action plans, and overall project completion.
  • Serve as department liaison with IT (i.e. networking administration, server management, and system new build).
  • Ability to troubleshoot security technology devices in the field, to include network and NVR equipment.

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):

  • Strong IT proficiency and experience to include TCP/IP and LAN, firewalls and switch configuration.
  • One (1) year of commercial project management experience.
  • Enhanced technical understanding of security systems: Physical access control systems; CCTV and associated networking; physical barriers, including doors, locks, gates, turnstiles, and intrusion detection.
  • Proficiency with automated project management timeline and/or task-tracking platforms.
  • Experienced with Microsoft 365 Environment; Office, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI etc.
  • Must be able to evaluate situations and demonstrate sound decision-making under stress.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and engage with all stakeholders, including leadership.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and high level of attention to detail.
  • Must be a self-starter and perform with minimal guidance, including after-hours when needed.
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal and professional communication skills.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 25% annually, including international.

Desired Skills / Achievements:

  • Three (3) years of project management experience.
  • Security technology certifications, to include experience with networking and server or NVR management.
  • Advanced understanding of security systems: Physical access control systems; CCTV and associated networking; physical barriers, including doors, locks, gates, turnstiles and intrusion detection.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft SQL Server, including ability to write queries, perform data analysis, and troubleshoot database issues.
  • Knowledge of various programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or C+ with solid understanding of software development.
  • ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP) designation.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM) certification.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment.
