The Role: Security Systems Manager

The Security Systems Manager leads the team responsible for installing, programming, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic security systems. This role manages day-to-day priorities and ensures internal and customer security system builds are completed safely and on schedule. You will coordinate equipment, resources, and installation needs with Construction, Purchasing, vendors, customers, and other Switch teams. You will also provide technical direction and support when the team encounters complex security system issues.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage the day-to-day work, priorities, and performance of the Security Systems team.

  • Train and support team members on security system installation, programming, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.

  • Track internal and customer security system builds and address issues that could affect schedule or delivery.

  • Oversee the installation, programming, modification, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of access control, video surveillance, alarm, intercom, biometric, and related security systems.

  • Coordinate with Construction on security system requirements for new builds and other projects.

  • Work with Purchasing and vendors to identify and obtain equipment needed for installations, repairs, and system maintenance.

  • Review blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, software documentation, and installation manuals to guide system work.

  • Support pre-wire work for alarm, video surveillance, and access control systems.

  • Ensure work follows applicable safety requirements and established procedures.

  • Maintain effective coordination with Switch teams, customers, vendors, and subcontractors throughout security system work.

What You’ll Bring
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in electronic security systems, including 3+ years of management or team leadership experience.

  • Hands-on knowledge of electronic security system installation, programming, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.

  • Experience with access control, video management, biometric access, alarm, intercom, or related security platforms.

  • Working knowledge of IP-based devices and physical networks.

  • Experience using electronic shop tools, hand tools, and testing equipment.

  • Ability to read and apply blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, software documentation, and installation manuals.

  • Experience with pre-wire installation for alarm, video surveillance, or access control systems.

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Ability to perform field work that may include extended standing and walking, working safely at heights, and lifting or moving equipment as required, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment when working in field or warehouse environments.

  • Ability to complete any additional background checks or drug screenings required for customer-specific deployments.
