Job description

Summary of Position:
Under the supervision and oversight of the Security Supervisor with matrixed responsibility to the Program Managers and the Facilities Manager, the guard will follow the site POST Orders and any additional direction as given by the site Program Manager, Security Supervisor, and Facilities Manager. This is a safety sensitive position.
Essential Duties:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Preparing the building for a safe opening
  • Bag check and Bag storage
  • Premise patrol
  • Patient escort to showers/safety check
  • Building closing procedures
  • Maintain the Vehicle Key check out/in logs
  • Maintain the Storage logs
  • Assist as a member of the Emergency Operations Team
  • Maintain the safety and security of the building, staff, and clients
  • De-escalate patients and staff
  • Complete and turn in Incident Reports
  • Maintain a Current Guard Card
  • Other Duties as defined in the POST Orders
  • This is an unarmed position

Qualifications:
Basic Knowledge and Skills:
  • 21 years or older
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Minimum 1 years of Security Guard Experience, healthcare facility experience highly preferred
  • High School Degree or equivalent, Associate Degree preferred
  • Computer skills: MS Office Suite, emphasis on MS Word and MS Excel
  • Able to operate effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Requires a current Arizona Department of Safety Clearance Card and/or Guard Card.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Position requires extended periods of sitting and standing
  • Position requires regular bending and reaching
  • Able to adapt to rapid, unpredictable work flow.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience with the underserved population preferred
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to pass county and federal district background checks and pre-employment 5-panel urine drug testing for marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, and PCP. (THESE ARE SAFETY-SENSITIVE DESIGNATED POSITIONS.)
