Job description

Role Purpose 

The Charter Screener is responsible for conducting security screening of passengers, crew, baggage, and aircraft for charter and private aviation operations at a Fixed Base Operator (FBO) or designated charter facility. This role ensures compliance with TSA regulations, airport security requirements, and company policies while maintaining a high level of customer service for private aviation clients. 

What you will be doing 

  • Screen passengers, crew members, and baggage for charter and private flights in accordance with TSA and airport security guidelines 
  • Verify identification, flight manifests, and access credentials prior to boarding or aircraft entry 
  • Conduct physical inspections of baggage, personal items, and cargo as required 
  • Perform aircraft security sweeps and ensure secure access to ramp and sterile areas 
  • Monitor access points to prevent unauthorized entry into restricted areas 
  • Maintain accurate security logs, screening records, and incident reports 
  • Coordinate with FBO staff, flight crews, pilots, and airport security personnel 
  • Respond to security concerns, suspicious activity, or policy violations immediately 
  • Ensure proper handling of sensitive passenger and flight information 
  • Provide professional and discreet customer service in a private aviation environment 
  • Enforce compliance with all TSA, FAA, and company security procedures 
  • Assist with emergency response procedures when required 
  • Perform other duties as requested

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-security environment 
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts 
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality 
  • Must have reliable telephone and transportation  
  • Previous security, military, law enforcement, or aviation experience  
  • Knowledge of TSA regulations and airport/FBO security procedures  
  • FBO terminals, private aviation lounges, ramp areas, and aircraft access points 
  • Fast-paced yet client-focused private aviation environment 
  • Exposure to outdoor ramp conditions, aircraft noise, and variable weather 
  • Requires interaction with high-profile passengers and flight crews 
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods 
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds occasionally 
  • Ability to conduct inspections in aircraft cabins and ramp areas 
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions 
  • Must be able to take verbally direct in English 
  • Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English 
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests 
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check 
  • Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge 
  • Must be in proper uniform or business attire as directed by company officials 
  • Identification badges must always be visible 
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achievement of company objectives
