Job description

Security Manager
The Security Manager at Raising Cane's River Center is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of security at our multi-venue campus, with a primary focus on ensuring the safety and security of all guests, events, employees, and the venue itself. This position requires a dedicated individual with strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, as well as the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize security needs effectively. This is an onsite position that requires in-person collaboration with multiple departments and coverage of events from start to finish.
The position will hire, train, and manage facility and event security staff to provide world-class customer service to our guests, tenants, and clients. This position administers Event Security functions on a full-time basis through delegation and attendance at events, often requiring extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
The ideal candidate is motivated and outgoing. They can remain calm under pressure. They are a multi-tasking, quick-thinking problem solver who can adapt effectively to any situation. They enjoy leading, developing, and motivating people and can work well with a variety of personality types.
SUPERVISORY AND ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead all FT & PT employees, including Facility Security, Event Security, Event Day Supervisors, Event Day Contract Security, and BRPD/Sheriff extra duty event staff.
  • Monitor security systems, including access control, surveillance cameras, and alarms, and promptly respond to any identified issues or alarms.
  • Investigate and report on safety and security incidents, including accidents, theft, vandalism, or unauthorized access, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review the work performance of security team members and recommend disciplinary actions.
  • Maintain plans for emergency preparedness and run drills.
  • Ensure all Security Staff licenses are current and update licensing requirements with the Department of State.
  • Work with the Human Resources Manager to conduct investigations relevant to team member complaints.
  • Assist in maintaining safety and security training documentation in Altum according to the Legends Global review schedule.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging trends, and technological advancements in safety and security to continuously improve protocols and procedures.
  • Cross-train and help support security efforts on the events side.
  • Perform other related duties as directed.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, and continuously developing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensure that all Facility & Event Security policies and procedures are followed.
  • Complete performance appraisals as needed.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and training programs for Facility & Event Security staff.
  • Create, distribute, and monitor deployment for Event Security and Facility Security.
  • Order, maintain, and monitor Guest Relations & Event Security equipment and inventory, including uniforms, wands, and search equipment.
  • Use ABI Mastermind, Workday and ADP Payroll
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping records and payroll is completed for all employees on time.
  • Create post-event reports.

TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create and facilitate productive, interactive, and engaging training programs for onboarding and departmental annual trainings in facility and event security.
  • Oversee, provide, conduct, or coordinate OSHA-required security training.

CREATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create and maintain departmental manuals, training guides, and employee recognition programs.

EVENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Meet with show promoters to discuss guest services and event security needs.
  • Conduct pre-event briefings, including event details and special requirements for Event Security supervisors.
  • Coordinate with Facility & Event Security supervisors for sign-in and release of team members.
  • Responsible for overall crowd management for events.
  • Assist with last-minute and/or emergency patron needs.
  • Enforce all building policies and procedures during an event to ensure safety and security for all.
  • Manage entry lines, including ticket-taking, walk-through metal detectors, and bag searches.
  • Manage functionality of walk-through metal detectors, hand wands, and ticket scanners.
  • Respond to and investigate incidents/inquire with witnesses on scene.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work cooperatively with all staff members.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Assist all other departments as needed.
  • Maintain and enforce Legends Global appearance standards.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate's degree; or 5-7 years of security experience in the event/operations industry; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prefer Law Enforcement Experience.
  • 2-4 years in a supervisory capacity.

HOURS OF WORK AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Available to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
