Employment Type: Full-Time
Position: Unarmed Security Officer
Pay: Up to $23.50 per hour
Schedule: Wednesday to Sunday | 3:30 PM - 11:15 PM
Position Summary
Citadel Security USA is hiring a Full-Time Unarmed Security Officer to provide security services at a retail property in Durango, Colorado. This position supports daily operations by helping protect people, property, and client assets through routine patrols, access monitoring, and professional customer interaction.
The successful candidate is dependable, observant, and comfortable working independently while following established security procedures. This role requires a visible presence throughout the property and the ability to respond appropriately to routine security concerns.
Primary Responsibilities
Property Patrol
  • Conduct scheduled foot patrols throughout retail areas, surrounding grounds, and designated work zones
  • Inspect entrances, exits, parking areas, and other assigned locations
  • Monitor the property for safety hazards, suspicious activity, or unauthorized access
  • Help maintain a safe and orderly environment for customers, employees, and contractors
Access Control
  • Verify authorization before allowing entry into restricted or controlled areas
  • Monitor visitor, vendor, and contractor activity in accordance with site requirements
  • Assist with enforcing site rules and established security procedures
  • Report on access concerns or policy violations promptly
Incident Response
  • Respond to security-related situations following client and company procedures
  • Notify supervisors of incidents requiring additional assistance
  • Support emergency response efforts when appropriate
  • Document observations and actions taken during security events
Documentation & Communication
  • Complete daily activity reports and incident documentation accurately
  • Record unusual occurrences, hazards, or maintenance concerns
  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors and designated client representatives
  • Follow all post orders and site-specific instructions throughout the shift
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while remaining attentive to changing conditions
