Position Summary

The Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator will monitor and analyze security activities from the Security Operations Center. SOC Operators play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of employees, customers, vendors, and facilities while providing exceptional customer service. This position requires the ability to remain alert and focused while monitoring multiple systems, responding to alarms, and addressing security-related incidents. SOC Operators will assist with requests via phone, email, radio, or in person and will troubleshoot, assess, and triage security issues as needed. Working hours for this position are 6 p.m. through 6 a.m.


What You'll Do

  • Monitor all entry and exit points via video surveillance, including over 100+ cameras throughout company facilities, and identify suspicious activity for response and action
  • Administer electronic badge access for employees, customers, and vendors through the Access Control System
  • Monitor alarms for access control, CCTV, and facility-related equipment, and dispatch or notify appropriate personnel
  • Identify, report, download, and export suspicious activities or events captured through Access Control and CCTV systems
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure the discreet handling of sensitive information
  • Communicate effectively with employees, guests, and vendors via telephone, email, and in person
  • Work efficiently in high-pressure situations, multitasking while producing detailed, accurate work
  • Coordinate and direct emergency response for medical, fire, and other incidents, including contacting police, fire, EMS, and other agencies as required
  • Document all incidents and activities with high-level written and verbal detail, escalating to management when necessary
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service while greeting, assisting, or checking in internal and external visitors
  • Assist with courier/mail services and provide escort services when requested
  • Demonstrate problem-solving and critical-thinking skills when troubleshooting security issues or system alerts
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or security management team

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of security-related experience, such as Security Operations Center monitoring, law enforcement dispatching, call center operations, or other high-stress environments requiring multitasking and prioritization
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer systems; intermediate to advanced computer skills required
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to monitor multiple activities simultaneously
  • Must follow documented procedures precisely to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Dependable and punctual - attendance is critical
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Professional, trustworthy demeanor with a calm and focused attitude under pressure
  • Experience with CCTV and Access Control systems (Avigilon experience a plus)
  • Previous security, dispatching, law enforcement, or military experience preferred
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while maintaining situational awareness
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with an emphasis on accuracy and efficiency
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team across all levels of the organization
