Position Summary
The Maintenance / Environmental Services Director is responsible for overseeing the overall maintenance, safety, environmental services, and appearance of the community including resident apartments, common areas, grounds, transportation services, equipment, and building systems.
This leadership role ensures the community remains safe, clean, organized, compliant, and well-maintained while supporting resident comfort, satisfaction, and quality of life.
The ideal candidate is organized, mechanically skilled, hands-on, and passionate about leading by example while building positive relationships with residents, families, and team members.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily maintenance and environmental services operations throughout the community
  • Ensure resident apartments, common areas, grounds, and equipment are properly maintained
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance programs and safety inspections
  • Manage repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, carpentry, and mechanical systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, emergency preparedness, and building standards
  • Maintain community vehicles and assist with resident transportation as needed
  • Lead, train, and support maintenance and environmental services team members
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and operational needs
  • Monitor department budgets, supplies, and vendor relationships
  • Participate in resident orientation and help create a welcoming environment for new residents
  • Build positive relationships with residents while supporting quality of life and resident satisfaction
  • Collaborate closely with leadership and department teams to support overall community operations

Qualifications
  • Previous maintenance, facilities management, environmental services, or senior living leadership experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of building maintenance systems and repair processes
  • Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and preventative maintenance preferred
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Leadership and team management experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Compassionate and resident-focused attitude
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
