Zion Mountain Ranch is an elevated sanctuary just 3 miles from the East Entrance of Zion National Park, set on a roaming bison preserve. Guests can choose from thoughtfully crafted cabins and bespoke lodges and enjoy onsite experiences including guided horseback riding, bison feedings, and Cordwood, a fieldtofork restaurant featuring ingredients from the ranch's organic gardens.

Job Summary:

The Cookposition at Zion Mountain Ranch is an entry-level position responsible for basic food preparation, cooking, and kitchen support. This position is ideal for individuals who are new to the culinary fieldand are eager to develop their skills. This position willassistin meal preparation and kitchen cleanliness while adhering to food safety standards.This position would work in either and/or both the Cordwood Restaurant or The Get Outpost Cafe.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assistin the preparation and cooking of basic food items under the direction of the Cooks 2, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager.

  • Follow established recipes and portion guidelines for all menu items.

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, equipment, and food storage areas.

  • Assistin basic kitchen tasks such as chopping, peeling, and preparing ingredients.

  • Follow proper food handling and storage procedures in compliance withServSafestandards.

  • Assistwith dishwashing, kitchen cleanup, and trash removal as needed.

  • Assistinmaintaininginventory levels of kitchen supplies and ingredients.

Duties if/when working in the Cafe:

  • Deliver excellent guest service in a fast-paced cafe setting,anticipatingcustomer needs, and providing prompt and friendly service.

  • Activelyengage withguests to answer questions about menu items andassistwith special requests.

  • Assistwith the preparation and cooking of meals, ensuring quality and consistency in all dishes.

  • Prepare ingredients, assemble dishes, and ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met.

  • Prepare handmade pizzas and operate the pizza oven according to menu specifications, ensuring proper cooking techniques andportioncontrol.

  • Accurately handle cash transactions, process payments, and balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts.

  • Follow company policies and procedures for cash handling, including safeguarding against errors and theft.

  • Ensure the caferemainsclean and organized throughout the day, including dining areas, kitchen spaces, and prep stations.

  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and personal hygiene practices.

  • Collaborate with co-workers tomaintaina positive, efficient, and team-oriented work environment.

Work Location:

  • Due to the in-person nature of the hospitality business, this position is on-site. RV space with hook ups are available at no cost for employees, limited employee housing at no cost is available on-siteand commuting fromthe local vicinity is also acceptable.

  • Due to the nature of our business,Zion Mountain Ranch is open every day.You must be prepared toworka schedule which may include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Ability to get along well with people, be honest,punctualand reliable.

  • Ability to remain calm and friendly.

  • Ability to physically work as aKitchen and RestaurantStaff member.

  • Ability to adapt to changing work conditions.

  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

  • Entry-level position with no prior experiencerequired; culinary school orpreviouskitchen experience is a plus.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.

  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods andlift upto 25 lbs.

  • Mustpossessor be willing to obtain Utah Food Handlers Certification.
