Job description

Description The coach is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading baseball activities for players of various skill levels in a recreational setting. The coach will provide instruction, develop players' skills, and foster a positive and inclusive team environment. Examples of Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate training programs and practice sessions to improve players' baseball skills, including hitting, pitching, fielding, and base running.

Organize and conduct regular team practices and manage team schedules for games and tournaments. Instruct players on the rules and strategies of baseball and promote sportsmanship and teamwork. Create a safe and inclusive environment that encourages all players to participate and enjoy the sport.

Evaluate players' performance and provide constructive feedback to help them improve. Communicate with parents and guardians about team schedules, expectations, and any important information. Ensure the safety of all players during practices and games and have knowledge of basic first-aid procedures.

Supervise assistant coaches and volunteers as needed. Maintain and inventory team equipment and report any maintenance or replacement needs. Qualifications Previous coaching experience in baseball, preferably in a recreational or youth setting.

Knowledge of baseball rules, techniques, and strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially when working with children and parents. Ability to motivate and inspire players to develop their skills and enjoy the sport.

Supplemental Information Working Conditions: This position may require working evenings and weekends to accommodate practice and game schedules. Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
