Full-time Apartment Groundskeeper – Van Buren Village Apartments (Kettering, OH)

Full‑Time | M–F 8:30–5:30 | No evenings. No weekends.

Van Buren Village Apartments is a beautifully maintained 41‑acre community in Southeast Kettering, and we’re hiring a Full‑Time Groundskeeper to help keep our property clean, safe, and welcoming for residents.

This role is more cleaning and upkeep than landscaping — perfect for someone who enjoys keeping things neat, organized, and looking their best. If you have janitorial, grounds, or general cleaning experience, you’ll fit right in. Must enjoy working in the all weather conditions.

Pay & Schedule
  • $17–$19/hr

  • Up to $750 quarterly site performance bonus

  • M–F, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM

  • Paid holidays, no evenings, no weekends

What You’ll Do
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness of exterior areas: parking lots, curbs, hallways, dumpster areas, playgrounds, sport courts

  • Seasonal cleanup: flower beds, planting, raking, fertilizing, leaf removal

  • Light tree/bush trimming

  • Snow removal when needed

  • Assist maintenance staff with basic tasks (moving appliances, inspections, preventative maintenance)

  • Issue pet violation notices when applicable

  • Maintain a professional, positive attitude with residents and staff

  • Follow all OSHA and Monarch safety procedures

 
What You Bring
  • General groundskeeping or landscaping knowledge

  • Ability to safely operate landscape equipment

  • Willingness to learn OSHA compliance within 15 days

  • Irrigation knowledge (preferred but not required)

  • Strong customer service and a team‑focused attitude

This role requires pre-employment screenings, including a criminal background check and a drug screening.
