Business Operations Manager | Real Estate & Property Management

The Joan Pratt Group is seeking an experienced Business Operations Manager to help lead the operational side of our growing real estate and property management business. This is a flexible full-time or part-time opportunity for a highly organized, proactive professional who enjoys improving systems, solving problems, managing multiple priorities, and helping a business operate at its highest level.

This is not a traditional administrative role. We're looking for someone who can think strategically while also rolling up their sleeves to execute. As our Business Operations Manager, you'll work closely with leadership to strengthen day-to-day operations, improve workflows, support real estate and property management operations, coordinate business initiatives, and help drive organizational excellence.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership, anticipates needs, and enjoys bringing order to complexity. You'll help improve business processes, create operational efficiencies, manage projects, coordinate vendors and events, support technology initiatives, and ensure important priorities stay on track.

Compensation:

$35 - $50 hourly


Responsibilities:
  • Partner with leadership to improve business operations, streamline workflows, and support company growth.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Create and maintain operational dashboards, KPIs, scorecards, and business reports.
  • Monitor projects, priorities, deadlines, and team accountability to ensure timely execution.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend practical solutions to improve productivity.
  • Assist with strategic initiatives and special projects that support the growth of the business.
  • Maintain and improve CRM, project management, and other business systems.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of AI tools, automation, and technology solutions.
  • Assist with listing launch workflows, transaction support, and operational coordination.
  • Coordinate with vendors, title companies, inspectors, contractors, lenders, and other business partners.
  • Support rental property operations, including maintenance coordination, lease administration, vendor management, and property-related workflows.
  • Coordinate client appreciation events, educational workshops, community events, open houses, and team meetings.
  • Develop event timelines, budgets, task lists, vendor coordination, and post-event reporting.
  • Assist with operational budgeting, expense tracking, and vendor cost comparisons.
  • Monitor operational expenses and identify opportunities for increased efficiency and cost savings.
  • Prepare reports and operational insights to support leadership decision-making.
  • Maintain organized documentation, business records, and operational files.
  • Provide cross-functional support to ensure continuity of operations during vacations, high-volume periods, and special projects.
  • Stay current on industry trends, technology, and best practices to help improve business operations.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in business operations, operations management, project management, executive support, real estate operations, property management, or a related business environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and improving business processes, workflows, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate needs and proactively resolve issues.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating projects, vendors, timelines, budgets, and business initiatives from planning through completion.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including experience tracking expenses, budgets, vendor performance, and operational metrics.
  • Experience creating reports, dashboards, KPIs, or scorecards to support business decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a small, high-performing team.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CRM systems, project management software, and cloud-based business applications.
  • Comfortable learning and leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to improve business operations and efficiency.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize, adapt, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in residential real estate operations.
  • Property management experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting a business owner or executive leadership team.
  • Event planning or project coordination experience.
  • Experience with transaction management systems, MLS, or real estate CRMs.
  • Colorado Real Estate License preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
