ANTICIPATED VACANCY

Position Overview and Responsibilities:

District 4  is looking for a self-motivated park service professional to fill a Government Operations Consultant position, as a member of the district team. The applicant must possess good customer service, computer, and administrative skills.  The incumbent must be able to multi-task working with a high-volume workload.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Compliance with the processing requirements of Chapter 215.422, F.S. is mandatory. Persistent failure to comply with this section by any agency of the state shall constitute good cause for discharge of employees duly found responsible, or predominantly responsible, for failure to comply. 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Conducts quality control audits of district wide processes and procedures.

Coordinates and conducts district-wide fiscal and park compliance reviews.

Property custodian for district administrative office.

Coordinates and submits annual district property inventories.

Reviews, manages, and submits all property forms.

PC refresh coordinator for the district.

Provides oversight assistance for the coordination of district contracts.

Monitor and update district intranet site.

Update PPMTS needs section as required.

Travel within the district approximately 20% of time to perform mission critical duties.

OTHER - Performs other related duties as required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment required for the position:  Knowledge of:  principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution; economic and accounting principles and practices; budget and inventory tracking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data which may include strategic planning, resource allocation, work force modeling, leadership techniques, and production methods; effective communication and dissemination techniques and methods. Ability to:  maintain a valid driver license; motivate, develop, and coordinate a workforce; communicate effectively with others verbally and in writing, wear uniform as required.

             Located in Oscar Scherer State Park

Oscar Scherer State Park is located in mid-Sarasota County.  This urban setting is located close to gulf beaches and downtown Venice.  Aside from the recreational opportunities, many cultural sites are within close distances. This park covers approximately 1,400 acres and consists of 106 campsites, youth area camping, 15 miles of trails, a tidal estuary, creek and a swimming lake.  The park contains one of the last strongholds of scrub habitat within Sarasota County with many endemic species such as the Florida Scrub Jay, Gopher Frog and Indigo Snake. Working hours 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday
