Job Title: Construction Scheduler
Job Type: Contract - potential to convert to direct hire
Location: Columbia, SC
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Scheduler to take ownership of project schedules from development through project completion. This role will work closely with project management and field teams to develop, refine, maintain, and analyze detailed construction schedules for complex projects. The ideal candidate will have P&P (Pulp & Paper) and paper machine construction experience, strong project scheduling expertise, and the ability to actively engage with the site team to ensure schedules accurately reflect field conditions and project progress.
Responsibilities:
  • Own the project schedule from initial development through project completion.
  • Lead the development of detailed project schedules with input from project management, engineering, procurement, construction, and field teams.
  • Continue to develop, refine, edit, and maintain project schedules throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review project documents and actively participate as a member of the site/project team.
  • Collect project progress information and accurately update project status and schedules.
  • Work closely with project management and field teams to establish project goals, milestones, sequencing, and priorities.
  • Analyze project schedules to identify duration, logic, sequencing, and resource issues.
  • Perform schedule impact analysis for potential delays, changes, and unforeseen project conditions.
  • Identify schedule risks and communicate potential impacts to project leadership.
  • Support project teams in developing recovery strategies and mitigating schedule delays.
  • Manage schedules for multiple projects and/or complex, large-scale projects.
  • Ensure schedules accurately reflect current field conditions, project progress, and planned activities.
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to less experienced members of the scheduling team.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide scheduling updates, analysis, and recommendations.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Construction Scheduler in a complex construction environment.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 or other industry-standard scheduling software preferred.
  • Seasoned Pulp & Paper (P&P) and paper machine construction experience required.
  • Experience developing and maintaining detailed construction schedules.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, project dependencies, critical path, and schedule logic.
  • Experience performing schedule impact and delay analysis.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with project management, field personnel, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning as an active member of a project/site team.
